I liked the interior design! The room has a nice design. The sink is outside of the bathroom ( shower & toilet has their own doors) The view from the room is amazing! We stayed at the roof floor. The restaurant and breakfast was amazing!

It was a good choise. The hotel is in a very good location, walking distance from the old town, and there are a lot of bus and tram stations nearby (to get to the airport was very easy). The staff is very nice. We were celebrating a birthday in Basel, so we got an upgraded room and were invited to have champagne at the bar. The hotel very clear and pleasant. The bed was very confortable. There were fress fruits and lemonade free at the reception every day. The breakfast was delicious and varied.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The buffet breakfast starts from 6 AM through 10:30 AM which is very well prepared with delicious baked croissants and breads, fresh preserves and butter, hot porridge and various roasted vegetables, mushrooms, cold cuts, various cheeses, yogurts, fresh and dry fruits and nuts...of course various coffee and teas. The location is very convenient which is one tram stop from the train station and walking distance to the City Center. We had the Small Charming Room which it's true to its name. We had wonderful time and extended our staying because we had such a nice time!

The place, while small, is cute and private. The absolute highlight is the breakfast, which was phenomenal to the point where you feel sad you can't eat everything.

The style is traditional, everything is impeccably maintained, and the entire place is spotless. The staff were exceptional, always greeting us with a smile and being incredibly helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious, the cocktails were perfect, and the breakfast, cakes, and other treats were outstanding. Our room was extremely comfortable and very quiet. Every piece of furniture and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered and was in perfect condition. They provided robes, slippers, shoehorns, an umbrella, and more. The welcome treats included fresh fruit, chocolates, and a little Eurovision-themed cake. In the evenings, they tidied the room for turndown service, closed the curtains, and neatly arranged our belongings. The corridors were carpeted with a thick central runner, which meant we never heard anyone passing by, even though the hotel was fully booked. We were also given a jar of hotel jam to take away with us and we can't wait to try it. If you’re considering this hotel and can afford the price tag, you will not be disappointed. Book it.

The appartment itself has some cool and unique furniture, plenty of space and is very clean. Moreover, it was super easy to get to any central spot in Basel. What really sets this appartement apart from others, however, is Kris‘ amazing hospitality. You can truly feel that he cares about your well-being and satisfaction. I can definetly recommend staying here and will book again.
