In winter, the access road is closed, and the Wallackhaus can only be reached by cable car from Heiligenblut. You can park your car in the garages near the cable car station. Parking is charged. Arrival and departure by cable car are free of charge for guests. Great location, with very nice and delicious food. Great to warm up in the sauna after an all day long hike in the changing weather. Interesting self serving system with drinks. Make sure to come for more than one night to enjoy the hikes nearby.

The spa is very nice and the breakfast was tasty with a wide range of options available. The restaurant is very good and we ate lunch and dinner there also and it was very good. We also took advantage of the free bicycle option and cycled all the way around Lake Worthersee, a very nice trip. Expensive but standard for the location. We didn't use the lake access but were given passes if we had wanted to do so.
