Anna is the loveliest host you can imagine. She runs the beautifully furnished lodge with so much warmth and attention to detail, you feel perfectly welcome. Breakfast and dinner were insanely good (the best Curry ever), Anna is not only a perfect host, but also a wonderful cook. The property is located in a beautful and calm landscape, surrounded by fields and sheeps. we fell in love with Bertus, the loveliest dog who takes care of Anna’s Farm and Stripjes, the cat. thank you very much, Anna, for having us.

Situated between the N2 and R322 and 20 km outside of Heildeber, Skeiding Guest Farm is a working ostrich and sheep farm with panoramic mountain views.

What an excellent idea to book this magical place for one night. Chris the owner, was in Heidelberg by chance, met us and drove ahed of us to the villa. He gave us a great tour around the large property, which was a good idea, because the weather turned for the worse and we wouldn't have seen these beautiful vistas on the day of departure. Chris told us that he and his neighbour take good care of these large parcels of land, which mostly remain off bounds to tourists, are kept in their natural state and all non-indigenous trees are being removed. Our grandkids loved the villa's music-room and the biljart table. We all enjoyed being in this quiet, peaceful property that was filled with the owner's pieces of art, gathered from all or the world. We really felt that we were staying in someone's private home instead of in a holiday rental. Of course, as always, the big mistake was ,only book it for one night...

The cottage was well equipped; it really had everything one could need. The building itself, with its rich history, was very special. Derek was an exceptional host, and made me feel right at home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the comfortable, well-equipped Dreamcatcher cottage. Our stay gave us the chance to unwind and immerse ourselves in a slower-paced, simpler way of life. A few crumbling cottages, makeshift animal pens and the obvious challenge of rural life added to what was a unique and thought-provoking experience. The view of the mountain from the cottage is breathtaking and a drive through the Tradouw Pass to Barrydale for lunch is highly recommended.
