Fantastic colonial house renovated with perfection. Very large and comfortable beds and bathrooms. Nice garden and outdoor veranda and beautiful breakfast room. The hosts prepared outstanding breakfasts and kids loved fresh made pancakes and adults omelette and home baked bread. Also free soft drinks and beer so enjoy in the evening. Location with a short walk to city center and great base for hikes in the parks and 15 min to Natural Bridge. Would love to come back if we pass by again. Thank you for a great stay. Not cheap but still great value and worth it.

I come twice a year to visit family at Washington and Lee and the Wingate is the cleanest. I’ve stayed at other hotels and they were dirty, smelly n disgusting.

The breakfast was good and there were many delicious items to choose from. The “breakfast lady” was available for showing us where items were kept, plus she kept an eye out for cleaning the counters and tables as needed.
