We wanted a comfortable stay after a week of touring Tunisia and this place was perfect for it. Very relaxing atmosphere, located in a nice neighborhood. Close to plenty of cafes and restaurants, promenade along the lake. A bit further though from the main sites in the city, but wasn't a problem to get short taxi rides everywhere. Mr Mehdi was very very helpful with everything.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The owners met us at the property for our arrival around 21:00, took every care to make us feel comfortable, and provided great information on local sights. The rooms are very nice, even nicer than they appear in the pictures. One of the nicest showers I have ever had in a stay.

I was very impressed with the check in process. I was greeted warmly and provided a nice glass of lemonade. The restuarant was nice and the service staff was extremely professional. Here is an example: I accidently dripped some sauce on my short and the server went quickly into the kitchen and brought back a cleanser that took the stain off. There was a welcome basket of local fruit that was greatly appreciated and a thank you gift on check out (a locally made pottery dish).

Very hospitable host. There is no shop right nearby, so a couple of bottles of water were very handy. The apartment is clean and comfortable, nicely decorated, and it’s about a 7–10 minute walk to the nearest shops and restaurants. Quiet, and the apartment has everything you need for a short stay. Fantastic stay in fantastic place + Dar Meriem is located in the heart of Tunis Old Town Medina and you have 5 minutes to reach old market Suq , Zeitouna Mosquee, Cofee Mrbet etc. On the other hand it is very calm and quiet area and the flat is very comfortable and equipped with all what necessary to stay for one, two weeks or even the whole month. Nice small but well equipped kitchen with small coffee machine, gas cooker, fridge and all dishes. Two sleeping rooms and living room with big sofa TV and table, clean bathroom. The flat is warm with central heating (the owner with family live upstairs) The owner is very kind, polite and helpful man who can support if anything is needed (e.g. pick us up very late from the airport due to big flight delay, provided with baguettes when all the boulangeries have been already closed in the evening etc.) Generally the nearby area is safe and charming like the typical oriental old town) Many coffees, tea and shisha bars, many local fast foods. This is also good start point to explore centre of Tunis on foot or by taxi. I really recommend this place and sure will visit it next time with family or friends

The host Mehdi is extremely helpful and accomodative. He picked us up from the louage station and also took us to the airport early morning. He answers quicky and is also very nice person in general. The apartment location is very central. It is clean and there is enough space. We liked it after staying in hotels. Very nice place and we will return to Mehdi’s apartment if we return to Tunis one day.
