What an amazing place. Beautifully decorated, spacious rooms, food is incredible, breakfast was delicious and highly recommend having dinner there as well. The people working there are friendly and helpful and really make your stay extra special. The surroundings are idyllic, ideal place to relax. Only wish we had time to stay longer!

Stijn & Kirby were truly exceptional hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived on the property. If we were ever in need, it was easy to contact our hosts who made sure we had whatever we needed. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are exceptionally comfortable. We loved the outdoor areas and well-maintained gardens, with lots of activities from card games to bicycles. Our daughter especially loved the playground too. It was the perfect getaway for our family and we look forward to being back soon!

This is a lovely Hotel, and we were very happy in choosing this place. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place is part of a winery, which they were very happy to give us a tour. It is very clean and the bed was the best one we had in the 7wks we were there.

Our flights had been delayed, then we had to negotiate an off-site airport car rental, so we only arrived around 19h30 but this was an easy and short drive from Lisbon for our first night in Portugal – perfect start to our trip. We stopped at a supermarket just outside Montemor-o-Novo for a few essential provisions (Breakfast mostly). On arrival, we gave Gertrude a call and she was there to show us in within a minute. Our room was well appointed with modern finishes. The shared area provided a lounge area with large TV, a kitchen and a dining area. We asked Gertrude about a local taverna or restaurant (Tasqhinua) and within a minute, she had a table booked at Tasqhinua Ai Ai (A must do!!!). We met John and Lizzie from Oz at the accommodation and suggested they join us and we all took a stroll into the village for supper. The village was very authentic and had an old communal wash-house. Next day, we had a simple breakfast before heading off. We would be very happy to recommend Girassol for longer stays, there’s a lot of attractions close by. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and there is even a swimming pool.
