A wonderful place to stay! The accommodation has a perfect location — peaceful, yet close to everything you might need. It’s hard to choose what I loved most about Spirit of the River Lodge, everything was truly wonderful. The location is magical and peaceful, with the sound of the river always in the background and barely any traffic passing by. We stayed twice, in two different rooms, and both were beautifully designed, cozy, and offered gorgeous views of the river. You can really feel how thoughtfully everything was created to respect and highlight the natural surroundings. The lodge has a sauna overlooking the river, direct access to the water, and a small yoga shala where I enjoyed my morning practice and reading. Claudia and Rudi were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They made us feel like family. We had dinner one night and breakfast each morning, and even as vegans, we felt so well cared for. The food was amazing. They also have lovely animals, a llama named Tupac and two sweet dogs, Max and Juanita, who added so much joy to our stay. The area is relaxing but also well located, with easy access to nearby towns and cities. We came back twice because we truly fell in love with the place. I can’t recommend it enough!

The hospitality of Cidelia and Yoel was the best. Extremely helpful with everything. Both know a lot about the area and the inca culture. It feels like a home. Spectacular views from the rooms since its quite a unique concept. Only 3 domes makes it cozy and doesn't feel like a hostel. Cidelia is a great cook and every meal tasted like home-made. I strongly recommend this place to everyone who wants to see and experience something different and beautiful in the Valley area.

We’ve been traveling around Peru for about a month, and I can say this is the best hotel we stayed across the whole country! It is exceptionally clean (this is not what Peru can boast)! The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is decent and lunch boxes are provided. If you feel cold, there’s a heater in the room, though the blanket is really warm! If you go to Machupicchu tour, you can store your suitcases in the hotel! The staff is just great!!! They communicate with you, help you, try to make you feel home! And finally, this is a very tranquil place! This is 15 min walk from Cusco city center - so there’s no noise, no traffic, if you wanna good sleep there’s a perfect fit! Walking to the city center is not that much uphill, just may be 2 small blocks up - so it’s very comfy. One more bonus - beautiful terrace with a view!

I only stayed for 1 night because the place I was staying didn't have free rooms for that night but I wish I had found this place earlier! It felt like home. The owner was very kind and the room was spacious and cosy. It also has a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the courtyard. I didn't have breakfast here because I had to check-out early but the owner offered to prepare something for me even if I had to leave before the regular breakfast time.
