Absolutely beautiful prefab/kit-aesthetic (but it was all meticulous custom) modern minimalist building in a stunning rainforest setting, with sliding glass walls and ridiculously comfortable beds. The views from bed in the morning are divine. I wish this were my weekend house. Even better that it's a short 5-minute hike to a picturesque beach and a few minutes drive to Pancake Rocks.

Set on a 5-acre hillside next to Paparoa National Park, Hydrangea Cottages offer free Wi-Fi and some offer stunning G views of the Tasman Sea or the native garden landscapes of the South Island.

Great place, was a unique experience. The unit feels like home - cosy, pretty and spacious. Nice ginger cookies available in the kitchen. Location is great and near to Pancake Rocks Lookout - great location to view sunset. The host is very accommodating. Their dog and cat are friendly

We had a fantastic stay here - it was absolutely perfect! The location is incredible, very easy to find and great instructions from Jed. Well equipped with everything you might need (including a portacot) and it was nice and warm from the heat pump when we arrived. The hot tub was a real treat and made for such a special stay, our 2 year old loved looking at the stars from it! I highly recommend this property to anyone, well worth the stay and we would definitely come back 😊

We stayed in Blowholes Cottage, the view was amazing down the coast towards Pancake rocks and the Blowholes. Really comfortable and well appointed cottage.

Located alongside Paparoa National Park, 30 metres from the sea, Punakaiki Beachfront Motels are 5 minutes’ walk from Pancake Rocks and local cafes and restaurants.

We got unit 2, right at the shore. The bungallow was clean and had a nice vibe with wooden floors and open space. Bathroom was big, kithen well equipped, full size frigde with milk inside. The location is perfect, walking distance to the pancake rocks and Prororari river track. The best part was its proximity to the sea, you could hear the sound of the vawes, and just a few steps through the back garden and you could watch the sunset from the shore. There were picnic tables too. Good meal options in the proximity. The stars at night are spectacular, almost zero lightpollution. It was one of the highlights of our travels in New Zealand!

It is so different from any other motel that I have stayed in in New Zealand. It actually looks & feels like a treehouse in the tropics but without the oppressive heat and humidity.
