Very pretty aesthetic of the place. I felt like I was in a cottage core style magazine. Everything was clean, the little flower garden in between the rooms/kitchen/bathroom is absolutely lovely, there is wifi, there is a TV, books to enjoy, a very nice kitchen, the bathrooms were the kind you enjoy having a shower in. There was noone else staying the night we went so it was very very nice but it would have been lovely anyway. There is also a very cute friendly cat called Taco, which was just the cherry on top. One of my favourite stays in NZ so far.

If you visit Northland you simply cannot miss this place. The lodge is huge and totally private on top of a hill overlooking the valley and the waterfalls. The hosts Candy & Rawiri went out of their way to show us around the property, including a creek nearby where you can spot the glowworms at night. It’s a gravel road driving to property from Opononi but it’s well maintained and suitable for 2WD. Spend at least a couple of nights there, you won’t be disappointed!

Our hostess was lovely and there to greet us on arrival. The location is quiet, and the comfy beds resulted in a good night's sleep for all. The kitchen was well equipped so we could cater easily for ourselves. As a bonus, the artwork from the hostess is very pleasing to the eye. It's an older property that has been redecorated with care, so overall, it is a pleasant place to stop a while.

Just 20 metres from Opononi Beach, Opononi Lighthouse Motel offers a hot tub, BBQ and free WiFi. All accommodation features a living area with a TV.

It was an incredible time in a very beautiful and serene place. The host was so attentive and helpful, while also allowing us absolute privacy. All the amenities were top of the line and very well thought out. Even though it was a higher cost per night we still felt like it was great value for money. After arriving we instantly changed our plans to book another night. Would 100% recommend this place to couples and people who want a destination holiday.
