Good basic room. Nothing is open in the evening or morning and you let yourself in via a code. But the room was comfy, decent space and all you need for a night. Close to Spar and Bistro that is open in the evening. It was also very quiet with underfloor heating in the bathroom. Pound for pound it is decent for Norway. I'll stay again if I'm in the area.

Number one, super service minded personnel, big smiles, always positive, made us feel very welcome even when we arrived just past midnight. Excellent breakfast, and an absolutely adoring hotel, that has kept a lot of interior from it's original 1926 opening. Very easy parking right outside, bautiful location by the river going into the fjord under the steep mountains.

This hotel is beautifully located on the shores of the Sognefjord in Lavik. It offers free Wi-Fi internet and free private parking. All rooms have flat-screen TVs.

WOW. The best place by now. We have been upgraded to the upper flour, the flat is no less then amazing, all the facielities you can handle and more, amazing balcony to the ocean and ferry, the flat is proffessional decerated, big windows to the sky all over, the owner is very welcoming and helped us with a water problen we had, beutiful family buissness he and his wife decorated the whole place with delicate and thoughtfull love to the travellers. What an incredible place. It is very rustic. No power, no flush toilets (there is a composting toilet), but the location and view are incredible. There is a 10 min drive from the farm, and the host drove us in their 4x4. Then there is a 15 minute walk up the mountain through forest, across streams, and through some bog (bring water proof shoes). Once at the top you feel isolated, and alone- much like Norwegian shepards would have felt. There is drinkable fresh water, gas for cooking and a wood stove for heat.There are battery powered candles, plus it stayed light (like dusk) all night - it is at over 62 degrees north. All that you need is there except your own food and clothes. It was a fantastic adventure & I can't recommend it enough.

I totally agree this is a hidden gem! The people from Alværa Missionssenter are really really friendly! There was so much to play with for the kids, table tennis, volleybal, frisbee, soccer and we could use the fishing rods as well. After a lucky catch the super friendly and good cook Jens made fish cakes as an extra for dinner, so great! They picked us up form the ferry in Lavik and brought us back as well which was excellent service. And making a fire at the fjord in the evening was the cherry on the pie, thank you very much for such a lovely stay! P.S. The rooms are indeed very basic but they have all you need, really suitable for a stay with children as well!
