An amazing hotel that is a timeless classic designed to be unique designed to be enjoyed and designed for those who love a little bit of luxury in their lives It’s quite isolated (but only 80 minutes from Colombo airport), has no bar, old plumbing and creaky doors and floor boards which is part of its charm - it has amazing views from the balcony - wonderful old fashioned rooms plus a couple of crested serpent eagles, a few iguanas and a family of monkeys that I’m sure waved to us when they walked past It also has an amazing team led by the Captain and Chef Mahesh who deliver a fantastic personal service experience - amazing menu - great food - anything you want when you want it - any time you want it - just awesome Also want to thank Sadeesha who was our host when we stayed - a lovely guy who took us walking explained all about the amazing nature and wildlife we saw, showed us the local Rubber factory and was simply awesome - even went shopping for my beer as the bar is not open yet (wine is available though) We had an amazing time here and have already booked to return in May - never done that before So thanks to the team at Ayr Castle we will see you soon

An Absolute Slice of Heaven! Our Unforgettable Stay at Ahas Gawwa We started our Sri Lanka journey at Ahas Gawwa and we were blown away by the experience. From the moment we arrived, every single aspect of our stay has been special. This isn't just a hotel; it's a sanctuary. The Welcome & Service: The hospitality here is great. We were greeted with the warmest, most genuine smiles, which immediately made us feel at ease. The staff are the true heart of this place. They are incredibly attentive, professional, and seem to anticipate your needs before you even ask. Every request is met with a "can-do" attitude and a warmth that feels truly special. The Room & Views: Our room is a beautifully designed haven of comfort and style. It's proper and clean, with thoughtful amenities and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. And the view... wow! Waking up and looking out over the breathtaking landscape is a magical experience that a photo could never fully capture. The hotel's name, "Ahas Gawwa" (The Horizon), is perfectly fitting. You truly feel like you're floating above the world. Ambiance & Atmosphere: The entire property exudes a sense of peace and tranquility. It's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The architecture blends beautifully with the stunning natural surroundings, creating an atmosphere that is both luxurious and deeply relaxing. The Food: Every meal has been a culinary delight! The chefs are clearly passionate about what they do, using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create dishes that are both delicious and beautifully presented. We've enjoyed a fantastic array of both local Sri Lankan flavours and international cuisine. Overall: We cannot recommend Ahas Gawwa highly enough. Our 3-night stay has been a dream, and our only regret is that we will eventually have to leave.

Quiet location, bar, swimming pool.

The place was clean, comfortable, and well located. The price was also very reasonable. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it to others

The place was unexpectedly good. The host Akhill brother was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The place was calm and the location was just right. It was clean, the washroom was good, there is an ensuite kitchen with everything u need for a long stay. And all in a budget friendly manner. Loved to stay there and hopefully will come again.
