I liked many things about Nuga Retreat. First of all, the beautiful, natural surroundings with mountain views created a unique atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, providing convenience, and the outdoor pool was a great place to unwind. I also really appreciated the friendly and helpful staff who truly made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

Amazing old bungalow in amongst the tea plantation. Food was amazing- the best meal we had in Sri Lanka! Western but with Sri Lankan ingredients and fresh from their own garden. The staff were super helpful.

Lovely, comfortable hotel in Walapane. We loved everything about it. Our room with ensuite bathroom was fabulous, and the staff made us feel very welcome. We ate dinner and breakfast there, and both were delicious. Highly recommended.

This guest House deserves more than a 10. Large breakfast menu with a lot to choose from. Big family rooms with Big bathroom and hot showers. Nice common areas as well. The hosts and staff takes The stay from Great to excellent. Knowledgeable, helpfull and very Nice people who made The stay feel like a home. They managed a freshly made, and very friendly dinner at short notice, and served us tradtitional health drinks as an extra treat for breakfast. My family loved The stay, and I whole-heartedly reccomends this guest House!

A nice big room with a comfortable bed and views out over the outskirts of the town and onto the tea plantations. There's also a common area with sofa and dining table. Breakfast that was included in the room price was good typical Sri Lankan. I also had an evening meal on both nights which was ok and saved me going into town but wasn't great if I'm honest. Location is around 15 minutes walk to Lovers Leap waterfall. And there's a bus stop a few minutes walk away where buses are every few minutes and cost 35 rupees in to the town centre.

Staying here felt like visiting a close friend rather than just booking accommodation. Madu’s warmth and kindness made our trip unforgettable. The villa was beautifully maintained, and when the evenings got cold, he immediately brought us a heater to keep us comfortable. He was always there to answer any questions and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. His recommendations for places to visit were spot on – each one turned out to be 10/10.
