We were looking for accommodation near the katharagama and we encountered the accommodation of Diana and his husbands place. It is soooooo beautiful, a real pearl in the middle of a green jungle and a paddy field. Two EXCELLENT (((((!!) clean room equipped with everything you need, beautiful setting, beautiful room (we moved the outside bathroom). Diana and his husband are very helpful, very welcoming, open-minded and are excellent hosts. we were offered a local dinner on site (not too spicy for tourists), super good!!!. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. they organized the village Safari Tour for us free of charge. We had a great driver and a terrific safari. Excellent local breakfast! I recommend this hotel 100%. Unbeatable value for money! If we had not already booked an accommodation in galle, - we would have stayed another one or two nights. People. A friendly welcoming smile from the staff when we arrived late after a long day riding scooters in torrential rain. We arrived late and unannounced after the hosts at our other booking cancelled last minute. When he turned up soaked to the bone the staff member ushed out to us and beckoned us immediately to a clean, comfortable room with hot water for a shower and then returned with hot coffees. Faultless service from the team. Thank you. Special mention goes to the delicious chicken curry and coconut roti served for dinner.

We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

It was really nice. The surroundings of the hotel were amazing, the owner explained everything so we didn’t miss a thing. We walked around the both lakes near the hotel and saw crocodiles, all kind of birds, etc. the property es super clean and they serve you coffee and tea whenever you want. The owner and his family were really kind, it shows how much they care a about everyone having a good stance. Really friendly, we really liked talking with them. Also no words for the amazing food they cooked. Really nice experience.

The property is in a small village in the nature, you are really close to the village itself but the property feels like miles away and is so peaceful. The property is simple but clean and has all necessary amendities. Prasad was the best host we ever had, every question and concern or request was adressed immediately. He arranged a tranfers and safari for us for very a reasonable price. His family provides delicious breakfast and dinner if requested which was a real taste of Sri Lanka.

This is by far the most amazing experience we had with accommodation in Sri Lanka. I cannot stress how important it is to stay here. The family that host are the warmest most kindest people. Do not bother eating in the town which has average restaurants, the food they make here is delicious, clean & so cheap. What a spread ! The owner is super helpful & also took us on a free cruise around the lake. We learnt a lot from him about how the locals live etc. He also gave us space if we needed it, it’s completely up to you. Rooms are lovely, spotless & big with an insane view. Also make sure you book your Safari from here. Our guide had been touring for 10+ years & was amazing with the animals. I could go go on forever ha !
