**There are things between heaven and earth that are true gifts for those who manage to find them. This perfectly describes the two incredibly beautiful days we spent at Villa Foresta. The villa itself, built in an Italian Alpine style, is located completely away from civilization, deep in the jungle. You can only reach it with a driver and a 4×4 vehicle. The journey itself becomes part of the experience – expect technical miracles and roads you would never imagine a car could pass. After climbing to almost divine heights, you are welcomed by the owner’s staff, who will spoil you with Sri Lankan cuisine at every possible moment. It truly feels like heavenly manna. The owner is available 24/7 by phone, and even though the staff do not speak English, nothing is ever a problem to arrange. Sleeping in this peaceful villa is pure magic. The small heart-shaped pool perfectly completes the unique atmosphere and genius loci of the place. The kitchen is fully equipped, the fridge ensures maximum comfort during your stay, and a washing machine is also available. The only small downside might be the lower water pressure – but honestly, you are in the middle of the jungle! In the evening, you can play billiards upstairs, while children can enjoy watching TV. This wasn't our first stay, so we obviouly like this place. The manager Anand couldn't have been kinder. He looked after us like super VIPs. He was everywhere making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to him. We forgot a swim suit and he offered to send it by courier service to our next hotel, which he did. The hotel itself is small and not for everyone. The rooms needs a complete rework - they don't do this place justice. They are in a poor state. But the location is incredible and I hope, this will never change - please never cut ANY of the trees! This is the biggest asset- the jungle and all its noises, the beautiful light filtering through the canopy.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The quietness, the nature, the view on the mountain from balcony. Super nice staff. We walked from hotel 2 km to sinharaya rainforest unesco heritage entrance. We were mesmerized by the nature in the rainforest and the surrounding. The hotel is a Super place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Vini Villa. The location is beautiful next to the river and close to Sinharaja Forrest reserve. It's so peaceful, nice place to relax. The hosts are such a lovely family, very welcoming. All the family are involved in running the homestay. We also had dinner there, the portions are generous, and also beautiful fresh fruit juices. To walk in Sinharaja forest you need a guide as paths are not clearly marked, our host arranged a guide for the day hike, and was very kind as we arrived back late (we took ages with taking photos) and we were able to shower and freshen up, and had complimentary fruit juice before our onward journey. Our shoes got really muddy, and our host kindly washed them, and dried them for us. Also the accommodation can arrange you transport with good safe drivers. Would certainly recommend staying there, especially if you love a quiet time, nature and Forrest.

The location was perfect, direct at the entrance of the rainforest. Also, the room was beautiful with a high ceiling and great view of a tea plantation and a mountain covered with rain forest.

The Location is very beautiful, situated in the jungle in a small village. The family was incredibly kind and made our stay feel like home. We had delicious homemade, traditional dinner and breakfast. The house is close to the entrance to Sinharaja Forest and they recommended us a great Guide who spotted lots of animals and showed us many ayurverdic healing plants. I can‘t recommend this place enough :)
