The Sanctuary is an outstanding place. The building itself it’s beautiful designed and decorated, fitting in well to the natural surroundings. The room and all the fittings feel high quality and a luxurious, a real treat when budget back packing. The nature that it is surrounded by is truly beautiful and peaceful. The perfect place to sit back and relax! What makes The Sanctuary so special is the staff. So welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Their knowledge of the animals and plants that you will see on walks around the premises is amazing, so well educated and genuine. The food cooked by mum is 10/10 and you will not leave hungry. They made our safari day so enjoyable and truly perfect!! I can not recommend this place enough, it’s a new venture for the team and they do it so well!! Thank you so much to everyone involved.

Amazing place to stay as like us you looking to back to the origine where nature and clean environment is the main attraction. The small luxury hotel is extremely well organized and the bungalows distributed on the property in beautifull way with gardens, trees and front lake! We booked a bungalow with pool and it was amazing, super large, comfortable bed, living room, bathroom extra size!!! The Staff was amazing from Marc that received us and take care all the time, Gaya, Jewewan and Chef Swadth just to mentions the more closer to us in these days but all were super kind. We had a fantastic dinner for San Valentine that will remain in our memories forever. They arrange for us the visit to the Park and follow us there. All was over any best expectations and is HIGLY reccomended place to go to have unforgettable moments!!

We had a wonderful stay at Raalmadu Wilpattu. The safari experience was absolutely amazing, and the natural surroundings made it truly special. The hotel manager, Kuma, took excellent care of us and always made sure we felt welcome and looked after. The room was simple and rustic, but that’s exactly what you would expect in the middle of the jungle — it added to the charm and authentic feeling of the place. The only small downside was that the private pool next to our room wasn’t usable at the time. However, they are currently building a larger pool, and we are sure it will be fantastic once it’s finished. Overall, we can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique jungle experience with warm hospitality and unforgettable safaris!

Riswan and his family are so hospitable and proud to introduce you to wonderful Sri Lankan food, traditional life and wildlife. A very peaceful setting next to the river and rice paddy fields. Monkeys played in the tree beside my treehouse, and I could watch fishermen patiently catch fish from my balcony. Everyone is so friendly. I took a nice walk to a wetland area just 15 mins walk and saw birds, monkeys and a mongoose. Riswan will arrange everything for you - meals, transport, food, safari, its all very easy, just let him know what you want. A very special thanks to "Auntie" for her amazing coffee, so no worries if you crave caffeine, strong, black, sweet and delicious.

We really enjoyed staying at this place. Nice and clean bungalows in a calm area, where you can spend some relaxing or working time. The resort has also a restaurant which offers breakfast, lunch & dinner. We recommend a smoothie bowl with a cup of a good coffee for a great start of the day. ☺️ The beach is good for kite surfing, you can get a recommendation for a kite surf lessons from a host. We would definitely spend there more time if we could. Thank you!

Three weeks into our trip, we still find ourselves thinking back to our first stay at Windy—with big smiles. We had an amazing time in our hut, but what truly made the stay special were the people. From the kitesurf team to the restaurant staff and reception, everyone was incredibly kind, fun and welcoming. Breakfast was great, with plenty of choice, and the food menu offered good quality at very reasonable prices. And best of all: the volleyball net!
