My stay at the Glima Eco Lodge was an amazing choice and I wished I could spent more time here. Roshani and her husband are such an inspiring and lovely couple. They treat you like you re a part of their family and serve you one of the best food I ever had in my LIFE! The Eco Lodge is so beautiful, it’s very clean and so cozy. The lake is infront of you and you can hear beautiful sounds of birds. The fireplace and the environment is so relaxing and you have the space only for you! Everything. It is surrounded by a lush garden of palm trees, very serene, in the morning you hear the chirping of birds as the jungle wakes up, the evening is very calm and quiet. The cottages are super clean, bedsheets smelling fresh, and the room has everything you might need (toiletries, water, kettle, tea, A/C). Sandeep is very thoughtful and can take of everything, from safari tour, to rides in/out of Udawalawe, dinner recommendations). The breakfast with full view of the trees was the cherry on the cake. I would return here anytime, I travel a lot and this is definitely in my top 3 hidden gems I found during my worldwide travels.

We had the most beautiful experience at Leel's cottage. Leel and his family are wonderful, kind and genuine people who make your stay unforgettable. The room is beautifully decorated, you'll be amazed by Leel's craftsmanship. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch with the swinging chair and enjoying nature. If tranquility is what you are looking for, then this place is right for you. Leel is also a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate safari guide. We had the best experience exploring the national park away from the beaten tracks. He pointed out so many animals which might have gone undiscovered for the untrained eye. Another highlight is the homemade food! Do not miss out on dinner! Leel's wife is a beautician, so you can get professional treatment there as well. I was very happy with my manicure. We left with a heavy heart as it felt we made wonderful friends.

This place is absolutely incredible. I'd honestly live here. Anju and his family were so welcoming and helpful. They had welcome drinks on arrival and after our safari which he organised, which was lovely. Breakfast and dinner were amazing! There was so much food, I couldn't eat it all, they even lit candles for dinner. The cottages themselves are absolutely stunning. They have been done to such a gorgeous standard and so many little details like beautiful light fixtures, natural shower as well as a hot one in the bathroom, washing line, gorgeous decor, and all the wooden furniture is lovely. They are just finishing their third cabin which will sleep three, Anju gave me a tour of it and it will be lovely.

As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies  🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari.  Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)
