I truly recommend House of Freedom. It is a perfect place if you want to experience the local culture and see how the locals live. I've spent 24 hours with Isuru. We had a trip around Bundala, a motor night safari and morning birds watching. Additionally lunch in his family house and evening barbecue. The house and room are humble, but everything is clean and the hospitality is amazing. The sourounding is breathtaking. No tourists around. It was an unfargetable experience!

The hotel manager Sri was really nice and made several times sure we were taken care of fully. Diner and breakfast were also really good. Our cook was flexible and wanted to know if we'd like to change anything to the dishes. All in all a very quiet and wonderful location Thanks to Sri and the staff!

Beautiful location, with views over the wetlands for lazy birding with beers. The host is a great birder but his safari driver is an absolute genius. This sort of expertise is usually 1000$s but was included in our safari of Bundala. Definitely would go back here. The food is also delicious, though slightly small portions- but we are greedy!

Our stay in the Lagoon Inn was wonderful. The Reviews telling about the great hospitality and the good (local) food are right. (Even our kids enjoyed it!). Both are found here at the Lagoon inn. The rooms were clean, cool and well maintained. And the location is stunning. Furthermore we were very pleased with the Safari that we booked here at the Lagoon inn. We recommend this Safari to all who come to Bundala. (https://bundala-national-park-safari-kamal.business.site/) We saw crocodiles, spotted deer, lizards, goanna, monkeys, waterbuffelo and many birds, (pelicans, hunting eagles, nest with young fish Eagle, painted Stork, Blue tailed bee eater, Kingfisher, etc...)

We had a fantastic stay. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready and it looked great. We had a room with sea view. We were immediately offered a beer on arrival and in the evening the host prepared fresh fish, shrimps, chips and rice for us. One of the best dishes we've had in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is located directly at sea, so you have a lot of peace here. The host is very helpful and will make your stay comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready and it looked great. We had a room with sea view. Our room had a lovely veranda which over looked Bundala where we could watch the fishermen and the water buffalos. The room was air conditioned and kept the room very cool. The host was very helpful. She organised a really good trip into Bundala for us. We also had a lovely dinner of kottu cooked for us as well as a tasty breakfast. We were lucky enough to meet some other members of her family too which added to our Sri Lanka experience. Ample parking
