We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

We really enjoyed our stay there. The owner is really helpful and can set you up for touring the surrounding area. It's a little outside of downtown but ask about the shortcut and getting around becomes much easier. A stream flows by the property to send you to sleep and the porch view from the rooms is really something.

We only intended to stay for a night, but ended up extending our visit because we loved it here! The accommodation is very simple but spotless, and well-maintained, with a convenient tea-making area. The hosts helped organize our visits to Lipton's Seat, the Pekoe Trail, Horton Plains, and local waterfalls. We managed to do all these activities despite the rainy weather, but it definitely makes us want to come back during a different season to see the views under a clear sky. The guesthouse is located right next to the railway but since trains do not run at night, our sleep was not disturbed at all. For anyone who loves quiet, uncrowded mountains, this place is absolute heaven—perfect for a multi-day stay to explore the region.

We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. This place is quiet, clean, and perfect for anyone looking to relax and recharge. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and unforgettable experience. We will definitely come again.
