Golden Crown Kandy wasn't just luxurious, it was a breath of fresh air. My spacious room was sparkling clean and the view of endless greenery instantly melted away the city stress. The location, while peaceful and serene, didn't compromise on convenience. The reception staff was incredibly helpful, and I especially appreciated a team member named Taranga who went the extra mile to assist them, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all guests. Someone on here described this place as a piece of heaven and that pretty much sums it up (and I'm not a religious man). I ended up extending my reservation for an extra night as I couldn't miss the chance to stay another day. I requested the room furthest down the hill and, yes, there are stairs to get down there (not that many really), but how else would one expect to get down a hill? 🧐 This also meant the cabin felt secluded and the view had an uninterrupted jungle-y vibe. Both mornings I sat on my balcony as a baby monkey scrambled and launched wildly towards birds high in the treetops - its family just lounged unbothered as the sun peered over the smokey mountains - no helicopter parenting in the monkey world! The pool is stunning (rooms up here would have a similarly stunning view). I swam each morning and again in the afternoon upon my return after a day of exploring Kandy. Don't let the distance to central Kandy throw you off - Tuk Tuks are super fun and there's so much on the journey to stimulate the senses (dodging bigass cattle and the like) and you won't be needing to back-and-forth to town regardless. Staff were super kind and accomodating and the curry for dinner and egg hoppers for brekkie were the real deal. How's the rest of my trip going to match this? Would stay again no question.

Very nice house with beautiful little garden. The room is furnished with great taste, the garden is full of flowers. The family is super nice and friendly, they treated my daughter as their own. They also organize cooking classes, which I absolutely recommend: it is taking place in an authentic kitchen with traditional utensilies, and is the owner's mom who teaches you about spices, local vegetables, and how to cook some very tasty Sri Lankan meal. She is great! Breakfast is an amazing selection of local dishes, and it's plenty. Our host was also very nice, ready to help with anything, explaining about culture and what to see in Kandy. He helped with our laundry, organized for us tuktuk to the citiy, and took us to the train station when we were leaving. The whole family was very nice and attentive to our every need. The location is outside of Kandy, a bit far from the center, but because of this it is very quiet, and it's surrounded by nature. I highly recommend it! Even if you don't stay here, try the cooking class!

This place is stunningly beautiful! It's an oasis of tranquility and wellness very close to the city centre. As soon as you walk in you will be overwhelmed by the amazing artwork and the amazing style of the villa. Didn't find anything comparable to this hidden gem! It's just next level. Incredible kind hosts and beautiful location. From the balcony, you can see all valleys covered in jungle. The property is a little bit out of the city but that's the best part, because you're closer to nature and not inside busy city. If you're in Kandy this is definitely the best place to be!

We had two nights at the Grove and everything was perfect. We had the family room which was enormous with a beautiful shaded balcony overlooking the mountains. The breakfast was phenomenal- eggs and sausages, followed by platters of French toast and pancakes and finally a plate of fresh fruit. We ate their both evenings and the dinners were excellent. We especially loved the infinity pool which was perfect for a cool down and big enough to get a proper swim in after a hot walk or run.

This place was incredible! The rooms were very nice and clean! View from the balcony was a perfect! Rice and curry, which we ordered from Inoka to our dinner was delicious!
