A budget friendly and comfortable restpoint away from the main road. Comfortable and tidy bed, with a simple mosquito net. The room was tidy and spacious, with a clean bathroom with hot water. Owner was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended for the budget conscious traveller.

The entire place was idyllic. Just off away from the hustle and bustle. The setting is in paddy fields down a dirt track. So, so cool! The manager on sight was extremely helpful and got us a tuktuk and drove with his bike down the track as our car couldn't make it and got us cold fresh juice on arrival. The owner was very helpful via WhatsApp. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Thank you to the team.

I had such a great experience there. The owner, Sanjaya really was so helpful. If there is any kind of problem, he will help you anytime. The room was comfortable, and nice in size, with a coffee maker and Air Conditioned as well. The bathroom has hot water. The breakfast is awesome, with many varieties of fruits, eggs, and curries. I can't even remember everything I had served on the table. The cherry on the cake, there is the POOL. Nice size, and the perfect temperature. Definitely, I enjoyed being there! The right place to stay in EMBILIPITIYA

It’s the wonderful staff who made our stay here so great. We had wonderful home made meals and went on amazing full day safari. The accomodation is rustic but totally functional and is within the casa resort. Thanks for a great stay.

We had the most beautiful experience at Leel's cottage. Leel and his family are wonderful, kind and genuine people who make your stay unforgettable. The room is beautifully decorated, you'll be amazed by Leel's craftsmanship. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch with the swinging chair and enjoying nature. If tranquility is what you are looking for, then this place is right for you. Leel is also a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate safari guide. We had the best experience exploring the national park away from the beaten tracks. He pointed out so many animals which might have gone undiscovered for the untrained eye. Another highlight is the homemade food! Do not miss out on dinner! Leel's wife is a beautician, so you can get professional treatment there as well. I was very happy with my manicure. We left with a heavy heart as it felt we made wonderful friends.

This place is absolutely incredible. I'd honestly live here. Anju and his family were so welcoming and helpful. They had welcome drinks on arrival and after our safari which he organised, which was lovely. Breakfast and dinner were amazing! There was so much food, I couldn't eat it all, they even lit candles for dinner. The cottages themselves are absolutely stunning. They have been done to such a gorgeous standard and so many little details like beautiful light fixtures, natural shower as well as a hot one in the bathroom, washing line, gorgeous decor, and all the wooden furniture is lovely. They are just finishing their third cabin which will sleep three, Anju gave me a tour of it and it will be lovely.

As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies 🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari. Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)

We stayed for one night at Wild Lake Side Lodge to do two safaris in Uda Walawe NP. Milan is a wonderful host and made our stay very pleasant and memorable. We rented two of his three cabins which are spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped with aircon, hairdryer, water kettle for tea and coffee and a fridge. We enjoyed sitting on our private patio in the evening watching fireflies. Milan is very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also cooked us a delicious Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast with the best omelette on our trip. This is a truly beautiful little gem in a lush tropical garden.
