I had a truly wonderful stay at Fern Hill Cabins. Located high on the hills above Ella, the property offers breathtaking mountain views that made every morning feel like a scene from a postcard. Despite being just 10 minutes' drive from Ella town, the cabins are tucked away in a peaceful and private setting, allowing for complete relaxation while still being conveniently close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to assist with anything I needed and full of great local recommendations. One of the highlights of my stay was the authentic Sri Lankan breakfast served each morning. Flavorful, fresh, and a real treat for anyone wanting to experience true local cuisine. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, nature, warm hospitality, and convenience, Fern Hill Cabins is the perfect choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Our favourite accommodation so far after 5 months in Asia! Beautiful location with stunning views from the balcony and not too far from town. Amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay, they helped us with rides into town, cooked delicious food, and even made us a packed lunch for our onward travels. Super comfortable beds and pillows. We stayed an extra night because we loved it so much. A great experience overall, definitely recommend.

The location was lovely, across from the waterfall, and close to the start of Ella Rock trail. If you want a little secluded cabin in the wilderness, this is the place. We had incredible breakfast every morning, and they were so helpful and provided transport to town whenever we wanted. The service was outstanding and always with a smile! Delicious breakfast. Friendly host. Free parking. Plenty of birds and chipmunks around. Relatively calm area. Good value for money. Emergency lamp offered when short electricity loss occured (we learned that electricity outages are common in Sri Lanka).

The place is clean, the room is quite big compared to other places of similar price, they serve you breakfast at the room. Place is only 600m from the crowded village center. Perfect location. And they have a small parking lot too. Best part, the hosts. They help us to arrange a jeep safari for the next day in Yala National Park.

Clean property. Large room with balcony. Delicious breakfast which staff deliver to your room in the morning. Secure parking. Great location just a few minutes walk from the centre of Ella where there are bars/restaurants. Staff were attentive, helpful and polite. Monkeys!
