Exceptional site. The hotel, a hanok, is in a pieceful and beautiful environment. The staff is extremely helpful, the host is a very elegant person and passionnate about the hotel, the korean history. There is a welcome tea which is highly appreciated, and the opportunity to have a dinner according to old recipies ( mode than 500 years) that have been modernized by the chef chose family did write the cool book. The experience to stay in a Hanok house where the owner lives was incredible, the house has around 400 years old and yet they managed to build a nice bathroom. All the areas are great conservated and the ambience of the house brings you peace. The breakfast and the welcome tea were incredible, everything homemade and amazing. There are no better hosts. This is a really special place to stay the night in the lovely Hahoe village. It's the most beautiful house in the village, and Mr. Ryu, whose family's home it has been for nine generations, is a charming host. We have stayed in lovely modernised hanoks around South Korea, and it was a great experience to stay in a traditional-style house as well. The dinner cooked by Mrs. Ryu was so delicious, some of the best food we've had in the country, and Mr. Ryu's tour of the house was fascinating and we were honoured that he would share his family's impressive history with us. It's wonderful to see how much he cares about his family home, and how well he preserves it for future generations (it must be hard work!). Note that the traditional futon mats on the floor may be a bit hard for some people's backs, and the bathroom is private but across the courtyard - but it's definitely worth it to experience a night in this wonderful house!

We stayed near the centre of Andong for one night and this was the perfect base to explore from, as it is only a few minutes walk from the main centre of the city. Andong is quite difficult to explore without a car but we found that the guest house was reasonably walkable to the main attraction of Andong folk village - around an hour on flat ground. Taxi from Hahoe village, where we started the previous night was around £20. We were met outside the guesthouse and were warmly greeted and introduced to the facilities such as wifi and refrigerated water. The room was in an ondol style and was very cosy with a wooden interior and a comfy bed. The bathroom was in wet room style with a shower above the sink, the ceilings are low in the bathroom but the water pressure was good and it did not feel cramped. Check in and check out were straightforward and accessing the property at any time was simple.

We took a taxi easily from the main Andong town here although we could have also eaasily taken a bus too. There was also good car parking spaces. The house was historic and beautiful and the room comfortable and clean. The bathroom is outside but clean. The beds were really comfortable and a great authentic touch. The room was warm and the owner was kid and hospitable. Note that there is no breakfast severed or restaurants nearby so make sure to eat before you go or bring snacks so you can enjoy the house well!

Great hotel in the city centre. Free parking on site. Large room. Provided extra bedding and towels. Water bottles also provided daily. Excellent front desk and staff. So helpful and kind. They made our stay very easy. Fabulous location - short still to old market.

The hotel is in a great location close to the center and market. It has free parking that was extremely convenient. The person who received us in the reception had a very good level of English but the one who stayed there at night didn't. The bed mattress was hard - we loved it but I am aware not everyone may like it. The hotel gives a good value for the money - is clean and have big rooms but don't expect luxury

Kim's House is wonderfully situated in the heart of the city, allowing easy access to all the tourist attractions. You'll be delighted to know that there's free parking available just around the corner. Inside the house, you'll be treated to stunning views of the ceiling and garden. Believe me, once you experience it, you'll want to extend your stay the next time you visit Andong.
