Very clean, comfortable and very well setup. Location was central but a little difficult to find at first. Beautiful apartment. Whilst we didn’t interact with any staff, the self check in process was simple. We would definitely recommend.

We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Beautiful traditional Japanese room with tatami floor and futons (note that you will have to make your bed which is common in Japan). The room was large with large French-doors and beautiful views. The futon beds were very comfortable. What made the difference was the kindness of the owner; very friendly and welcoming. He spoke good English, which made it easy to communicate. He got a hot bath ready for us, which was much appreciated. We really liked this place. We only wish we stayed longer!

Hoshi Meguri is an wonderful traditional hostel. The room was beautiful and spacious. The futon were extremely comfortable, even for a Westerner ! And the three private onsens are amazing to unwind Yurie & her husband were amazing hosts, kind, discreet yet really friendly. They prepared delicious and refined meals, brought up fresh ice tea regularly and kept my room always tidy. They were of good advice on what to do around. They offered a couple times to drive me to the train station and were of great help when a typhoon hit and I had to change all my plans. It’s definitely one of my best stays of all my travels in Japan. I hope to come back one day if I travel around Shimoda again!

They have 2 baths and 1 pool with the best scenery. At the check out they even took us to the train station. I highly recommend this place to anyone, the dinner and breakfast is a must try experience. The beach is a 7 minute walk.

This house was SO much fun! The design and decor were phenomenally done. We loved how the host took a traditional home and transformed it into the beach pop style. The home was spacious and provided so many amenities. We were happy to do our laundry at the home and have such a relaxing atmosphere towards the end of our two week stay in Japan. The host, Billy, was outstanding. I cannot emphasize enough how kind and responsive he was to everything. He came by to meet us and happily brought us beach chairs, beach gear, and offered SO much quick advice on where to go, what to do, where to eat, etc. We had a great stay in Shimoda and chose to go to a few different beaches, Shimoda Park, and the Kawazu seven waterfalls with our time. So much fun!
