It was unfogetable eperience- we met the owner and it was amazing to see how past meets modern Japan. More then 500 years onsen was first esperience in my life also we enjoyed first time private onsen with my husband .We had breakfast and diner served in room and it was unforgettable , especially egg cooked in onsen! If you want to experience staying at a traditional Japanese house in the countryside, this is the perfect place. It is suitable for large groups with both beds and futons available for sleeping in multiple separate rooms. Everything was clean and a bunch of snacks and drinks were prepared for us, making us feel welcomed. We had no trouble parking a regular-sized Japanese cat at the designated parking spot in front of the house. As a typical traditional house, it is poorly insulated and may take a while to warm up on cold days but there is AC in several rooms and other types of room heaters are available as well. The bathtub is amazing and even supports reheating the water so that it can easily be used by several people consecutively. For exploring the surrounding area, a car is highly recommended.

Very friendly staff. Our coordinator spoke both English and Japanese so easy to communicate. Onsen water was very good and relaxing. Meals were very good. Location next to historic stone steps for easy access to shopping and temple. Room had nice peaceful view of mountain range.

This was our third visit to Japan, and we always wanted to try a traditional ryokan. Oyado Tamaki surpassed our expectations ! The level of attention to detail was amazing. Everything was impeccable. The tatami beds were super comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were an experience on its own, definitely a feast for the senses (they catered to our meatless request, everything was delicious). The staff was friendly and attentive and made us feel royal (domo arigato gozaimashita Okami san, domo arigato Kobayashi!)

the balcony onsen its the highlight but the room is good and the gift shop is really good. they have a displays for the animes that have connections to this site including inishl d and yama no susume and sell some merchandise for the onsen susume girls. the staff had good English and were accommodating to us keeping our bags there earlier than 3pm.

If you want to experience staying at a traditional Japanese house in the countryside, this is the perfect place. Stay View Ikaho was an extremely comfortable, clean and spacious stay for two in the heart of the famous Ikaho onsen town. If you want to explore Ikaho and surrounding mountains I can’t recommend this accommodation more highly. Check in / out was smooth, view was stunning, was very quiet and beds were very comfortable. Parking was free and always available throughout our stay.

It has a big parking lot. There's a convenience store right across the street. The restaurant there was nice, with good food (both for breakfast and dinner), but take care that it is closed on Sundays (just for dinner).
