Lovely staff, amazing food, big rooms, combination of onsen in the room and private onsen in the property, lift to/from bus station, very attentive whilst giving you space, we really liked the location and didn't miss being a bit away from Kurokawa at all

I love this place--and I can't remember the last time I wrote that on a booking.com review. Brand new wooden cabins squeezed in a tight valley in the middle of the woods, next to a little stream of water. The lodges owner lives in a cabin next door, warm welcome and always willing to help. The cabin was squeaky clean, had everything I could desire and even more (a piano!). The private onsen is a few steps away from the cabin, if you want something more social there's plenty of public onsens around (one down the road has a view on the river). Quiet, fresh air, plenty of hikes a short drive away. I stayed in the middle of winter, heating and thermal insulations were on point.

All was perfect - if you want a private stay in a wonderful surrounding, off the tourist paths, this is the right place! Private onsen is great and the two other onsen-huts offer great views to nature, while relaxing. A lot of nice trails and hikes along beautiful rivers available nearby. Make sure to have the dinner/breakfast included. It’s essentially fine dining and they cater to your kids (dinner only) and when you stay multiple nights the menu is changed for you. Food quality and presentation is phenomenal. Staff very friendly and helpful at the restaurant.

First the hard facts: the hotel is an oasis of quietness and affordable luxury in the middle of Kyushu’s mountains. The are several apartments with private onsen and some with view over the mountain side. A very tasty and rich breakfast (Japanese or western) is available in the main building. Great Restaurants and a cafe with delicious cake and views are nearby. But the most lovely point was this: In Japan you usually meet many respectful, friendly people. However, the staff in Spa Greenness was extraordinary. Already the information exchange when planning details weeks before our arrival was both cordial and professional. On location everybody was helpful and friendly, be it for a special breakfast or very helpful to book a ferry for the next travel section. It’s really the place to go if you want to find some peace and quietness away from busy cities.

If you want to experience peaceful Japanese style, this is a great choice. Here you can see everything you imagine about Japanese life: hot springs hidden among trees, traditional Japanese gardens at the foot of hills, and shallow streams not far away. I love sitting on the tatami in my room drinking tea, as the table perfectly reflects the red maple trees in the courtyard. Meanwhile, the infrastructure here is well-developed, with no need to worry about transportation or dining. The hotel provides shuttle bus service and serves exquisite meals. Especially Nagamichi san, who is responsible for receiving us, is very professional, friendly and gentle. He always pays attention to your needs in advance and warmly asks for your opinions, but not overdoing it, just like the spring water here. And all the other staff are responsible and reliable.
