Just close by the road, next to the bus stop. A little noisy in the daytime but luckily there was not much traffic at night. The house was a little old but very well kept and clean and partly renovated. Just a little disappointed that the toilet were still of the older non automated version. The host treated us to a little cheesecake and juice upon our arrival, and so helpful to send us off to the railway station when we asked for help. The bus timing is rather sparse after 8 in the morning, and there is no bus until the evening. There is a hotel Hotel Nami on the opposite side of the road where you can get food for a decent price, otherwise this area is very quiet aside from the Onigajo cliffs attractions on the opposite side of the road.

THIS is the experience you want in Japan. Away from the city in a traditional japanese house, clean and comfy with a spiritual depth to it. Host is amazing, Yossy is a very friendly and caring person, he will do his best to make your experience in Kumano-shi unforgettable, take you on tour or share a meal in a local restaurant. This was by far the best place I stayed, I would highly recommand you to stay at Guesthouse Usagi if you plan to visit Kumano-shi ! Thank you Yossy, you've been amazing 🙏🏻

This is the best place we have stayed in our 20 day trip in Tokyo. The remoteness of Atashika, the incredible Japanese style room and over all the kindness of Hisashi just made our stay incredible. If you’re around the area you just can’t miss this spot for at least one night. It’s in front of the beach, the room has absolutely everything we needed and they make the best fish sandwich we’ve ever tried. 10/10

Staying at Tennyoza was an incredible and unique experience. Shiho is an amazing host, and kindly drove us to and from the train station. Tennyoza has amazing views of the ocean and a lot of personality. But the real highlight was enjoying the sunrise while listening to Shiho play her wonderful music. She also treated us to another small concert in the morning where we met Ku-Chan (her owl). She is an amazing artist and we felt really privileged to witness her play. I would highly recommend it to everyone and especially for those who appreciate music. 😊

We had a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse. It is basic but has everything you need for a clean, comfortable stay. The beach is right across road and the station is just around the corner. Hisashi is very friendly and extremely helpful with tips on what to do around the area and on our way to Kyoto. You must also try Hiashi’s home cooked dinner from local produce- very delicious! His orange juice is also the bomb. Would definitely return.

Very clean Professional staff Very good onsen. For male and female(according to my partner) Nice view from the seaside room. Location in Kumano is good, there is the connection with the village through the breathtaking onigajō cliffs and also a walking tunnel. We also did a day trip by car to Nachi from here. There was also a little foldable table in the room to have tea and food.

the size of the property. it made our unit feel very private. the bus system inside the property is very convenient but you’re never farther than a 5 minute walk from a facility. there are no cars allowed past the parking lot which makes it safe for children, too.
