The place is BEAUTIFUL. They really did a good job rebuilding a Japanese traditional style home which is also quite modern at the same time. Common areas and the rooms are well taken care of. Everything was perfectly clean and both the bathrooms and the kitchen are fully furnished and very comfortable to use. The staff is also very helpful when needed, even if they might not be at the reception all the time.

Really lovely owner that even took us to the local onsen and picked us up. Also reserved a place at a local restaurant, so we wouldn't go hungry. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood and the night sky was cool to see with all the stars. Could store our bicycles under a roof too. Really comfortable beds and pillows.

An authentic home restored beautifully by Dani and Evan! The touches of original furniture and vintage furnishings really set this house apart from anywhere else I have stayed in Japan. Dani and Evan were so welcoming and gave us great recommendations for local activities and restaurants. A perfect stop half way along the Shimanami Kaido Cycle Route. It was everything we needed after a long day of cycling. After seeing the house we wished we had booked longer since it was very comfortable. Also the owner helped us out with getting a taxi to a restaurant which saved our night.

Splendid house that we stayed during our Shimanami Kaido cycling mini-trip. Nicely renovated; softest futons we’ve ever slept on; having a washer and dryer was a plus, especially mid-cycling adventure. I can only imagine how nice the stay would be for dogs and their humans — there are so many amenities, from backyard to sofa steps!

I stayed here during my Shimanami Kaido trip because I needed accommodation close to Okunoshima (the rabbit island). The property is essentially a hostel with private rooms. It was clean, comfortable, and well thought out. They provided useful amenities such as a toothbrush, earplugs, warmers for the colder season, and even a torch, which came in handy because it gets really dark at night, and you need it to walk to the kombini.
