Loved the little house we stayed at in Myoji for our family Christmas. This was a traditional Japanese house and enjoyed the coziness and warmth the house had. The hosts were very friendly and accommodation, with lots of thoughtful detail in the house. The hosts provided so much information, good recommendations for local places to eat (highly recommend the local curry pie), gave us extra bikes, booked a taxi for us on our last day, and were so friendly and welcoming. The town of Myoji is very cute and some great little places to eat and visit. Would also recommend day trip to Kyosan - just beautiful.

Host was genuinely amazing!! from day 1 we were just so overwhelmed by how generous he was everything was prepared for us. He made sure we had everything we needed and constantly sought to make sure that we were comfortable settling in and gave us lots of information on things to do around the area. If you are interested in knowing more about the local culture and cuisine he is more than happy to give you detailed explanations of the area. Unfortunately we stayed for only 2 nights and couldn't explore everything. The house itself was clean and homely, the morning and sunset views of the mountains from the terrace were short of breathtaking! The host went out of his way to provide breakfast and fresh fruits/vegetables which was really sweet as he delivered them himself. If you're looking for a quiet getaway in the countryside this is it.

Lovely hosts, highly recommend staying in this cute little town which is so close to Koyasan. We got lucky to experience this since the temple stays were sold out. The private living room was so cozy and Japanese style, and the room, beds were quite comfortable too. We were also gifted some fresh produce from their garden and it was a sweet gesture. We took out the bikes for a little bit and explored the area, it was beautiful. Very welcoming people and the responses to our queries were quick. 10/10!
