What a magnificent view from this hotel!! The whole panorama of Modica before you - breathtaking both during the day and at night. Super helpful staff. I had booked a standard room but, on arrival, we were given the choice of our chosen room or an upgrade to a superior one at no extra cost. Naturally, we chose the upgrade and enjoyed a much larger room with sofa and chairs. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view from our balcony incredible and, from the hotel's dining room, an even better one, with its expanse of floor to ceiling windows. We were there in April so didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting and well laid out. Reception staff were helpful with restaurant suggestions and also booked a taxi for us to go to Scicli on one of the days. To get into Modica, we chose to walk down - and back again! A LOT of steps but it didn't take long at all. And there's also a very nice restaurant just a short walk from the hotel, along the same road (with the same stunning view). Only slight negative at the hotel, for me, was the aircon; we were there in early April and they don't switch on the cooling function until later in the month. With the minibar right next to the bed putting out some heat, I did find it pretty warm during the night and had to open the balcony door. Bonus of that was hearing owls calling to each other across the town! We would definitely recommend staying here for a truly memorable time.

A fantastic seventeenth-century villa in the Sicilian countryside! A place that makes you fall in love. Entirely renovated by a social cooperative, after being abandoned. I recommend trying their shop in the center of Modica to taste traditional sweets and other local products! Absolutely recommend for a beautiful weekend or week. Fantastic location to enjoy the tranquility of the place and its beauty.

The cutest tucked away BnB, with even sweeter owners. The room was amazing, a cute little nook and view over the garden and out to the hills. Perfect to chill in the sunset. And a delicious breakfast, even more amazing that when I had to check out extra early Luisa even kindly prepared me something warm before I left, even though it was so early! It was very much appreciated. Many recommendations of dining in the surrounding areas. And a treck at the end of the street for a walk in nature. Thank you Luisa for having me.

The place is astonishing, a 18-century property refurbished partly as an accomodation, partly as a place for people with special needs, who also work at the premises. Beautiful sorroundings, breakfast in a very nice courtyard. All the peace you can find. Is in the countryside, still very near Modica and also Scicli. The apartment given to us was OK, it has a private open space with a big table and chairs. IMHO an excelent place to have relax and nice tours nearby.

We stayed at Baglio Calanchi for 6 nights. We truly felt at home due to Giancarlo’s hospitality. Giancarlo gave us lots of recommendations for activities. From Baglio Calanchi, you can (by car) easily discover the provinces Ragusa and Syracuse. We especially liked hiking Cavagrande and hiking Riservata Vindicari. A longer stay like we did (4+ nights) is perfect to explore more than just the typical sights such as Noto and Syracuse. We enjoyed the elaborate breakfasts Giancarlo prepared every morning and a few very romantic dinners he organised for us. A very special experience you’ll probably find nowhere else. Furthermore, the pool area is perfect after a day of visiting towns and hiking. It’s a large pool and it’s relaxed since Baglio Calanchi offers just two guest rooms. All in all, highly recommended! We will definitely come back here if we come back to Sicily someday.
