The hotel is brand new and very well managed. The team is excellent and they go out of their way to help you. Flavio is excellent and a fountain of knowledge. His mantra is "no problem" and he lives up to it. Also the team at reception and breakfast is great and they are super helpful and attentive. (sadly I cannot recall both of their names). I cannot highly enough recommend this hotel. We came as a family of 4 with two children and it was perfect for that as the rooms are spacious and the bathroom is accessible via a hallway so no one gets disturbed. The location is brilliant and you are in the middle of Grado. they also provide rental bikes free of charge so you can wizz around town and go to the beaches.

Nice accommodation close to the beach and the center of Grado. The staff was very friendly, a nice lady welcomed us upon arrival, showed us our room, and gave us some tips. Our room was on the ground floor and was beautifully clean and nicely furnished, including air conditioning. There was a nice selection at breakfast, including a bar. The distance to the center was about a 15-20 minute walk along a nice promenade. Access to the beaches is limited and paid, but the hotel offered us a better deal. Parking was right next to the hotel, but there was a market going on during our stay, so we had to move from the street in front of the hotel to the hotel's small parking lot, where luckily there was space for us.

Brilliant location as described- on the main pedestrian walk into old town and opposite the sea. We could walk into town within 5 minutes. Angela and hotel staff were extremely helpful and pre booked our sun beds on the beach and arranged car parking near the hotel. Breakfast was a highlight!! So much beautiful food- cakes, pastries, cooked eggs, bacon, and meats and cheeses.

Staying at Hotel Castrum during our visit to Grado was an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The room were extremely comfortable and well air-conditioned, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel itself is new and modern, with a very convenient elevator that added to the ease of our stay. Its location in the heart of the old town was ideal—everything we wanted to see was just a short walk away. At the same time, the hotel is tucked slightly off the main streets, so we were spared the noise and bustle, which made for peaceful evenings. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. A special thank you to the lovely Polish lady who showed us where to find a fantastic free beach and recommended a restaurant with the best Neapolitan pizza in town. Another staff member went out of her way to lend us her personal bottle opener when we needed one. These small but meaningful gestures made us feel so welcome and well cared for. We were also impressed with how the owners accommodated our need for secure parking, going out of their way to arrange it for us. The breakfasts were fantastic—everything was fresh and delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the outdoor tables, savoring our meal under the open sky, surrounded by the charm of the Italian old town. As for Grado itself, the town is simply extraordinary—full of grace, elegance, character, and authentic charm. It’s a place that leaves a long lasting impression, and I truly hope to return one day. When I do, I will undoubtedly choose to stay at Hotel Castrum again. To the owners and staff, thank you so much for everything. I wish you all the best and hope the hotel continues to thrive and grow beautifully!

All the staff is very friendly, there is a good atmosphere all over the place. Well maintained and clean, breakfast had a good variety of high quality products. Peacefull location, parking nearby, close to the center and the beach.0

Overall the hotel is very clean and seems like a new hotel. You feel good inside the hotel. Breakfast was more than expected. They cooked the eggs individually for all the guests. Seasonal fruits were great. It was a complete Mediterranean breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A room with a balcony was very satisfactory. Also the hotel told us that we could use bicycles for free. Although limited, there is a parking lot within the hotel and we were able to use it. It was very safe and free.

Very spacious apartement, with a huge terasse, Beach and old town only a short walk away. Public parking is the option there, but it was not an issue to find free parking lot.
