What a wonderful hotel. Everything was spotless and well designed. The view of Lake Mývatn was just awesome from the bar and the restaurant. Best location possible. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Will use this hotel again on my next visit. Food in the restaurant was very good both diner and breakfast. Bonus was seeing the northern lights dance above the lava fields surrounding the hotel.

A big thumbs up for the very helpful staff of Hotel Laxa. When we were about to check out, we clumsily drove our car into a pile of snow accumulated in the hotel car park overnight and got stuck there. A few hotel guests around lent us a hand but still could not pull our car out. Fionn at the Front Desk came to assistance immediately upon our request. It was certainly some strenuous work he did to free our car from the thick snow. And he's our hero. Thanks also to another lady at the Front Desk who was very helpful. It's a pity that we did not know her name. All in all, it was a great stay at Hotel Laxá. It's clean, cosy and at a good location in the Myvatn area.

It was one of best guesthouses i have stayed in Iceland. Clean cozy rooms and friendly staff. Additonally Skútustadir was perfect. I have tried everything unique this farm had to offer. Geysir bread, geysir beer, smoked trout, burger, angelica tea. Everything from localy grown plants or livestock. Loved it. And last, but not least. They make the best Gelato I had outside Italy!!

This is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The Lake Myvatn area around the hotel was everything we hoped for and more. The trails around the nearby lake offered excellent walking and hiking. The hotel is quite close to other area attractions including the Myvatn baths. The included breakfast was exceptional with more choices than one could hope to work through in a stay of several days. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good and service from hotel and restaurant staff was very good. We enjoyed our stay.

We got stuck during a massive 3-day snowstorm. The staff was impeccable. They created a lunch menu for everyone in the hotel and gave us constant updates on the road conditions. They asked a neighbor farmer to come and plow the snow in the parking lot (5 out of 5 stars service). The breakfast is beyond amazing, the rooms are spacy and comfortable and the food in the restaurant was great (although a bit pricey). Recommend it to everyone.

The accommodation was very spacious, with large windows and a fully equipped kitchen, including an oven (we appreciated the option to bake meat). The furnishings are simple but fully sufficient. The parking lot is a few steps from the entrance to the accommodation.

Great hotel, attentive staff who even wake you up if the Northen lights are visible (if you wish ofc)and good breakfast. Our room had a great view and was very comfortable. We had dinner at their restaurant and both the service and food was amazing. We even managed to see the Northern lights from the parking lot. Great hotel, would definitely recommend.

So far the best hotel we stayed in in Iceland. Great location, comfy beds, overall cleanliness, kind and professional staff. Offers a wake up knock on a door if there’s a aurora visible. Large parking lot.

Lovely central location to lots of the most popular tourist attractions. We stayed two nights and three would have been better to cover everything we wanted to see. Lovely breakfast, happy hour drinks and restaurant on site. Perfectly clean and free parking on site.

The hotel front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and included. Two Tesla chargers in the parking lot.
