The Avalon is my first choice of hotel when visiting my family in Kilkenny. The rooms are really comfortable and tastefully decorated, the inclusion of a coffee machine is very welcome. The hotel has a very homely atmosphere and the staff are wonderful, so kind and friendly. I would really recommend breakfast, a good selection of local produce really well cooked and served. Fantastic period house in the centre of a wonderful village. Full of charm, the house lended itself so well to our group booking: fabulous entertaining spaces and relaxing areas, fully stocked kitchen, open fires and beautiful lighting. It was dreamy. The bedrooms are beautiful and the beds are first class. Ross, the owner, is a gentleman and reccomended Bramley and Morriseys and both exceeded our expectations!
