Beautiful views on the lake, very nicely furnished, clean, modern, feels homey and comfy. Close to some very nice restaurants and in the heart of Tuk Tuk. Easily accessible for the boats. Nice breakfast (very good smoothie bowls!) and really great staff, who are super helpful and go above and beyond to help you out. We had some confusion over the days we had booked and they helped us out and we managed to stay the exact number of nights we needed :) thank you so much

By far the greatest accomodation we have ever stayed at. The room was spotless, spacious, and felt much more premium than the wonderfully affordable price it is listed at. Now about our host -- Dimmer is one of the best human beings I have ever met. If kindness was a person, it would be him. From picking us up from the port, to giving us coffee and traditional desserts morning and night, to sharing delicious Durians from his garden with us, to every piece of counsel given about navigating this wonder of an island -- there could not have been a better man to guide us. In all my travels, I have never met someone who has inspired me so much to be kinder and to give love without expectation. Matraville is an experience. If you are reading this, I would give my highest possible recommendation about staying here. More than the comfort and the warmth of the rooms, you will leave here with a renewed sense of faith in the how beautifully kind humans can be. Good location, nearby eateries within walking distance. Can see beautiful sunrise on the balcony. Rooms are spacious. We encountered few problems during our stay, but the staff here are very helpful and tried their best to fix it.

Effort to reduce plastic use: We got a jug that we used to fill up with water from the water dispenser in the corridor. Another surprise was that the takeaway food was packed in a lovely bamboo woven box with cutlery made from natural materials
