The owners were so kind and honest. I arrived at the place early in the morning before check in time, but he picked me up at the bus terminal and made me use the room. On the check out day, I could wait the bus time in their place and even use shower after checkout time. First he proposed the plan with a guide but after knowing my trip is a student-low-budget one, he kindly advised my trip. I do recommend this place.

Jakob and their family were AMAZING , we felt like we were at home all the time, they helped us with everything we needed it. Rooms were simple but comfortable and they have a nice terrace just in front of the forest were you can seat and have a coffee always there for everyone Jakob also spent the day with us and showed us everything we wanted to.

I definitely recommend this hostel. It's safe. Very good and clean. Hot water. Wifi. Good reakfast included. Other food can be ordered too. Private rooms. Good price. Very comfortable. The host is very nice. I would recommend him to be your guide. He knows what is going on in the area at the time. I've visited many places with him. I've stayed longer because I wanted to see every day of the funeral celebrations. Every day, different things happen. The funeral was 5 days. They can be even longer if it is a higher class family. I've stayed in Papa Tia, but if it is fully booked, someone can stay in Mama Tia. It's his son's place. When I was in a hostel in Makassar, they helped me book the bus to Rantapao. Another guide contacted me through them and offered his trips. I didn't take this offer. It would be paying someone else for what you can arrange by yourself in Rantapao with your homestay. I was happy with Jacob's (the host from Papa Tia) trips. He will advise what the options are, and people can choose what they want to visit. Jacob also helped me to organise the bus to Poso, and he helped me with communication with my next hotel. Many thanks 😊

The host Aldhi is super amazing. He is extremely passionate about his place and job as a host. He goes out of his way to ensure all my needs are taken care of. Right from the moment I booked his place until the day I left. All my concerns and even any bookings that I need to be done was helped by him ie my bus from Makassar to Toraja was sorted out by Aldhi. Aldhi is also super amazing in recommending you places of interest. Plus awesome places for their local festivities and food. He knows I love to run hence he even helped me book a run in Bori which is super amazing. The property I stayed in is a traditional tongkonan that is more than 300 years old and still in immaculate condition. It is beautifully surrounded by bamboo forest, open green garden and padi fields dotted with some village homes. In the mornings I’m greeted by the crowing of the cockerels and chirping of birds. Milly and Boy, both their cute family dogs will always be there to greet me. The Location is smacked between all the touristic places. A short 900m from KeKetsu, near to Rantepao town center and has laundry and shops within walking distance. The family feeling is awesome. Aldhi’s wife is a surgeon and her mom, ibu who glues everything at home and their lovely daughter Diana are really warm and kind. They know when to give you the space you need and also any help that you require.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riana’s Homestay. It was a good value for money, we had everything what we needed, the room was super clean and breakfast delicious. There was an option to organise a tour around the area or to rent a motorbike from the owner. Perfect location in the town centre.
