Owner was exceptionally helpful. We didn’t have internet, stuck on a bus for 12hrs, arrived much later than we’re told. The town shuts down at 9pm, which we were not advised of previously. The owner was so helpful and understanding of us arriving late. He helped us organise a bus to visit Tikal for the next day. Our room was an excellent location and beautiful views. The room was very clean. Owner speaks very good English and is happily to help sort out any activities or provide advice on where to eat in the area.

This charming hotel is located in northern Guatemala’s Petén Jungle, on the shores of Lake Petén. It offers fantastic trips to the Mayan Ruins of the Tikal National Park.

Peaceful, excellent location, great staff, great menu that’s focused on what’s available locally, fruits yoghurt, omelets, seafood, pasta broad and reasonable price points - Coffee was great each morning. Access to swimming in the lake was the cherry on top. Welcoming place owner is visibly involved, it’s rustic appeal is coupled with enough modern needs for those well travelled to enjoy the tranquility

The host is simply the best. The rooms are nice and comfy with a lot of space. Lovely garden area full of pets to cuddle!

Ismael was the perfect host and very attentive, for the price given it's location we weren't expecting luxury and enjoyed our stay, the three things that marked this property down were, the musty smell not helped by lack of ventilation in the shower and toilet area, the lack of hot water and the noise from the local cockerels, dogs and workmen (most of which were outside of Ismael's control). Great location just a 5 minute walk to the main road from El Remate to Tikal. I would highly recommend this property for anyone travelling on a low budget and looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation with basic expectations.

Great location, excellent host and staff. Went out their way to make my stay the best. Great atmosphere, food, one of the best sunsets.
