The room was very nicely decorated (modern, but keeping the some old elements of the original house) and very comfortable. The host, Annelise, was extremely welcoming and gave as a lot of info about what we can do in Verdun, including restaurants recommendations. We took the optional breakfast and it was a good idea, as we had everything served when we wanted and it was delicious. Location is also great, 5min by car to the Verdun old city and maybe 20min by car to the battlefield.

W., the host, is most certainly the friendliest landlord I've ever met - period. The "room" (which is actually quite a big apartment) is equipped with everything you need (fridge, coffee, sweets etc.). Breakfast is provided from 8am literally right in front of your door – contactless – (W. will leave a selection of croissants, pain au chocolat, some milk, jam and and and …) right on the doorstep. Parking? Right in front of the house. It takes 30secs to get your luggage out of the car – and in the apartment. Best of all: W. has three pug dogs! You need to meet and cuddle them!

A wonderfull place to stay, with a friendly host. Right in the centre of Verdun, the restaurants and memorials of the city are in walking distance. All was very clean and tidy. The host even prepared hot water for me to make tea on the road.

This is a hidden gem. The gardens are simply enchanting, even in late autumn - clearly this is a labor of love for the proprietress. We loved the decor of the house and the wonderful breakfast provided to us. The croissants were the best we have ever had. In the back of the garden there is an ominous-looking gash in the hillside. Upon further inspection we discovered it is a somewhat overgrown ninepin bowling lane, complete with wooden bowling balls, a ball return chute, and a hidden chamber where the pin-setter can safely hide. There was plenty of cleverness everywhere we looked. We would definitely return.

This property is simply amazing and breathtaking. Super cool layout and restoration of an old chapel into an apartment out of the ordinary. Our first impression was this could not be true, we must have been entering the wrong door. Next time we will definitely stay for several days to explore Verdon in depth.
