Location is close to nature, and easy to get by bicycle from frederiksværk and Frederikssund. The hosts, Hanna and family were friendly and very available, and made sure I was comfortable. The WiFi was excellent for my remote work. Lovely room, very bright and quiet, with views to the garden in each direction, but also with privacy, so It almost feels like you are in a separate house. The shower was better than my own shower at home.

The hotel is authentic, old, cozy. It’s unusual for old local hotels like this not to have been renovated with complete disregard for their original interior. The hotel is good value for the money and I appreciated that my very large king size bed room was a bit cold. Understanding that original non energy insulating windows will result in a room temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius I will not hold it against the hotel. Also the bed has warming Scandinavian duvets. The bathrooms are not large or practical but they function. We booked the cheapest standard room next to the main stairs and could hear people walk on the stairs but we only paid a total of USD 75 for two adults including a full continental breakfast for both of us. The food was excellent and had we ordered it at a restaurant or cafe in center of Copenhagen we would have been charged between USD 75 to 130 for two people. Yes the hotel is well maintained in its 50/60ties interior design and some places the wear and tear shows but the only place which was visibly dirty was on the wall to wall carpet on the stairs steps. The staff were great all the way through and the restaurants menu was traditional and the seating area was modest and clean. There is a modern , fenced large playground in front of the hotel and there is free public parking

The hotel is a jewel with its beautiful salons, garden and terrace. Every morning, a nice lady and the owner of the hotel would welcome us and suggest to us where to go. The location is perfect to get to different beaches and towns nearby. There is also an excellent danish restaurant in the hotel. The room was bigger than other hotels, with two tables and a couch.
