The staff, the meals, the setting, the birdlife, the beaches, the remoteness of the location. The staff was extremely helpful in organizing trips and boat pickups to go snorkeling and to Corcovado NP. The people were very sweet and helpful. It was our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica.

Absolutely everything! The cabaña we stayed in was very cosy and every single detail was very well thought of. The view on the woods is calming and relaxing. You’re completely immersed in nature: from the balcony we saw monkeys, toucans and agoutis. Two frogs crossed our path when going back at night. The room and the kitchen were spotless! Last but not least, Sebastián is an incredible host: friendly, available and very nice. You can tell he genuinely enjoys hosting people and sharing tips and information about this and other beautiful areas of Costa Rica.

Great location. The room has everything you need, including a warm shower. The view was stunning, and the tree in front of the balcony is full of iguanas. We didn’t use the kitchen but it has everything you need if you want to prepare a proper meal / breakfast. We didn’t see any reviews when we booked, but we can absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking for a stay in Drake Bay. The owner also works for a tour agency, so he can help you plan any trip.

Some friends recommended the place to us, without a doubt one of our best lodging choices. Carlos and Laura always attentive to what we needed, with additional attention to the cozy accommodation, makes you feel at home. The breakfast was delicious, with beautiful views of nature and we also try the cocktails before taking a swim, definitely recommend to do that! They also have a tour company and they help us book a tour to visit Corcovado. It was beautiful! Really great tour! Thank you very much and we hope to come back soon !

We had a really lovely stay at Los Paniquines. The hosts Rafa, Estelle and Ingrid were so warm and welcoming. The little cabin was clean, spacious and comfy and the food and drinks included were absolutely delicious!! They could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we need. The location was super fantastic too. Steps from absolutely beautiful Playa Caletas (with loads of other gorgeous, private beaches) along the Drake Bay hiking trail. So happy I came across this spot - it was a much nicer location to stay than staying directly in or north of the bay where we spent a couple more nights. Incredible value too! Go! Enjoy! Pura Vida!

Drake Bay is a remote yet breathtaking destination, and our stay at Natural Drake Bay Hotel made our visit truly unforgettable. We spent four nights here as the final leg of our Costa Rica trip, hoping to find a comfortable place that would enhance our experience of this faraway corner of the world. I’m thrilled to say we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Natural Drake Bay is a family-run hotel situated in a stunning location, perched perfectly to offer beautiful views of the bay. Both the pool and restaurant offer stunning views of the bay, creating a mesmerizing scene —at one point, we even saw whales jumping from the water! The beach is also just a 3 minute walk. Patricia, Daniel, and their team, particularly Victor, provide a luxurious experience. Throughout our stay, we felt very well cared for. Everyday, when you arrive, Patricia welcomes you with refreshing, beautifully scented cold towels, which is a wonderful treat after a hot day. Victor then serves the most exquisite fruit juices I’ve ever tasted. Even when activities (Corcovado Park visit, Snorkeling in Caño Island, ….) started at the crack of dawn, they were there to prepare breakfast for you The hotel takes great pride in highlighting local cuisine at dinner, with top quality produce exquisitely cooked. The rooms offer views of the surroundings, which were full of life (Birds, Iguanas, Monkeys) and relaxing in the hammocks was a spectacle in itself. Toucans would perch in the tree next to the cabin, while showering. The toiletries were of high quality, adding to the overall sense of luxury. In summary, Natural Drake Bay Hotel provided us with an exceptional experience, combining comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

Super lovely people, they made sure at all times that we had everything we needed, the room was cleaned every single day, we could park the car at the property while on an overnight jungle trip and they even allowed us to stay one extra night, as part of our trip changing.

The owners are absolute lovely, they made sure that we had everything we needed at all times. We could leave the car parked at the hotel while we went to a jungle excursion overnight, and they were flexible enough to let us stay an extra night due to our trip plans changing

I count on others’ reviews so I’m providing my perspective in case it helps others. I agree with many of the reviews including really pretty property (on the ocean side only - the parking area is trashed), killer views from the cabins and eating area, kind-hearted staff - although needing leadership, and I acknowledge the rest about poor internet connections, mediocre/limited food, and lack of comfort in cabins. The swimming pool is amazing, it really feels like you're in the rainforest. Macaws flying over you in that pool all the time. Close to the supermarket and the bay, walking distance. The hotel and parking spot are gated. And the breakfast buffet was very early which was convenient for our day trip to Corcovado.
