We spent a superb week at Fewo-Egger-Thalmann. The location is great, few kilometres outside Virgen, in a beautiful natural setting slightly up the mountain slope, providing magnificent views of the valley and mountains from the large balcony! Irene and her husband are great hosts, discrete but still available if you require assistance. They made us feel welcome at all time and even gave us some eggs from their chickens. You can also buy homemade jam, syrup and liquor made by Irene. The East Tyrol is a beautiful region to explore with many impressive trails, lakes, good local food and the highest Austrian summit: The Grossglockner standing at 3,798m above sea level.

Every meal was thoughtfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Special thanks to the waiter Edi, who provided attentive and friendly service, making each dining experience feel personal and special. He was knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, and his warmth added a personal touch to our stay.
