Everything was perfect: a very nice hotel in a good location with friendly and polite staff, a great view of the city with a foot bath where you can have a Japanese bento breakfast (you need to pick it up at the reception in the morning, free ice cream and coffee all day), a clean room with everything you need, a great onsen. The onsen in the room was the highlight of the trip worth every penny. They were also very nice they add some candy for our honeymoon. Location for us was on point next kawaramacachi station and next to the market and the shopping area. The view from the hotel with greenery was very nice recommended to take high floors we had the 3rd not too bad. Very good for honeymooners I recommend you have a day or two to chill at the hotel.

Spacious rooms, great hospitality, amazing bathroom & beautiful interior. The staff were very helpful & made it easy getting taxis & arranging & calling kimono rental shops. But best of all was the spa & the private onset. As a man with tattoos I was paranoid but it was amazing I got to use the facilities & the private onset was like something out of a manga. Worth every penny

Our hosts were kind and friendly, and we loved the ability to take out the free bikes and explore Ohara! The view of the valley at sunrise is fantastic. We would love to come back to Kyoto and stay at Ryoso Chatani again.

This was probably one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Japan! The onsen was lovely, the service was wonderful, and the view from our room was unbelievable. Not to mention the delicious food (we paid for the breakfast) and the futons themselves were incredibly comfortable.

The room was beyond expectations, great design and comfort and very private. The place in itself makes you feel like you're completely isolated. The food was up there with some of the best we've had in Japan. The staff was very friendly.
