Amazing hotel in the Japanese traditional style, where you are supposed to walk bare foot all over the place. Lovely onsens, both private and public, are avaliable without reservation, you can wear traditional and cosy japanese-style bathrobes and try free of charge evening's soup and icecreams. The staff is always ready to help and polite. We felt a taste of Japan there, even if we were just to stay in the hotel and not to see the cultural heritage of Kyoto! Highly recommended place!

The beds were super comfortable. We loved the free matcha coffee maker on the 9th floor and the free treats there. Also the onsen experience was very good and not intimidating. Clean and easy facilities to use. The supplied robes were quite lovely. Staff was super friendly. Location is fantastic for great shopping and not far from various temples by taxi. Really fun organic/specialty grocery store across the street. Pretty view from the rooftop bar (which also boasts a foot soak option!). Good powerful shower and nice smelling bathroom amenities.

The ryokan is near a lot of onsens that close late. Boots and umbrellas are provided to help you navigate the small town. The rooms had adequate heating and was very comfortable. Highly recommend this ryokan!
