We booked two rooms and they were super spacious, lots of room to lounge about and also for the kids to jump and get their energy out. On-site facilities were fantastic - private onsen bath in our bathroom was amazing to relax in, plus the "public" onsen was also super relaxing. There was a play area for kids which they really enjoyed, and the kids loved the free snacks, icy poles and hot chocolate/soft drinks. Breakfast was buffet and delicious. Was very easy to get to - just 5 mins walk from Gora station, and super easy to catch cable car up mountain or train to do the Hakone Loop. Also walking distance to the Hakone Open Air museum. Overall very very family friendly, and we spent a couple of afternoons just enjoying the very relaxing atmosphere.

Very good bed(double in the dorm room), comfortable with quite a lot of storage space and your own window! They change towels daily as well which was a big plus. Toilets outside of the room which is always great, the onsen was such an amazing thing to have right in the hostel after a day of hiking, it’s small but can fit about 8 people and is a very relaxing experience. The staff were very nice and helpful with good tips for hiking and food in the area. The common areas! They were truly amazing with nice decor and good facilities, the kitchen well-stocked and two guest fridges. The main living room is spacious with plenty of seating and various board games to be played and a terrace! Overall it was an amazing stay and I didn’t not expect to meet such great people. The walk to the hostel from the station is not that bad! Just a steep incline for about 5 minutes other than that pretty easy if you just have a backpack.

Everything was perfect. Great location close to the station and alot of shops nearby. Room was big and spacious. Very clean. Comfortable futon beds. The natural hotspring onsen was very clean and so relaxing especially the open Air bath. This is a really nice Ryokan perfect for relaxing and soaking in onsen. Breakfast and dinner was plentiful and well presented.
Decent accommodation in traditional Japanese ryokan style. Four private onsens, two indoor and two outdoor that are across the road and up the street. Outdoor onsens were very nice, and it was pretty relaxed to get a time slot to use it. The owner also let us store our luggage there for a few hours after we checked out while we visited Lake Ashi. Great little restaurant across the street that was very affordable. Around 1000y pp.
Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant. An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful. I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.
The private onsen in our room was amazing. Soaking in the hot spring water overlooking the zen garden was lovely.
The owners are very friendly, go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable. He dropped us at the restaurant nearby and willing to pick us up if the restaurant couldn't drop us back to the accommodation. The room is very clean and spacious with tatami floor. She prepared the futon for us. The private Onsen was a plus. You can experience the real Japanese ryokan here. It should be easy to find if you get off at Kamisokokura Bus Stop and walk 3 mins to TSUKINOYA.
We had a great time staying here! Our two-person room was very clean and comfortable, and staying in a traditional-style ryokan was a fun experience. Plus there was a natural hot spring onsen downstairs for bathing. The owner was very kind and gave us lots of advice about our itinerary in Hakone despite us not knowing any Japanese.
Wonderful stay in a charming ryokan. Food was delicious (I would highly recommend taking half-pension) and service was exceptional. I found the onsen very relaxing, it is a very warm outdoor bath with cloudy volcanic water that opens on a beautiful bamboo garden. There's also an indoor bath. They offer private onsens but the public one was empty when I got there. Room was very comfortable and they provide everything you need
lovely traditional rooms with tatami beds and private onsen, overlooking the tranquil river which provides the hot spring water. the kaiseki dinner and breakfast was a delightful spread, though don't expect to be blown away by every dish.
Lovely ryokan, with authentic rooms and onsen. Very friendly staff, hot springs were such a good experience and totally worth it. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Due to heavy rain on our check-out day, no buses were driving. The staff handled the situation very well and organized transport to the next station.
