Our stay exceeded our expectations, which were already high based on photos and reviews of the hotel. The staff gave us a wonderful welcome and provided all useful information we could need (in English) and were so helpful in arranging transfers to and from the ferry port. The facility is gorgeous and it is clear that a lot of thought went into the details, from the amenities to the decor and also in the guest experience. The onsens were also beautifully done and very relaxing. The food was excellent and most of it locally sourced. The Japanese breakfast was exceptional and we also had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant one night. Lastly, the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a very lovely stay and would stay again!

It was luxuriously spacious and the design very well thought of! There were 3 of us in the room and we didn’t feel cramped at all. There was lots of space to move around comfortably. The design of the bed was amazing! It was one long bed made from hard wood, fitted with 3 single mattresses side by side. In between the mattress there was space to put your phone, charger, watch, etc which effectively acted as a side table without wasting any space! And also there were power outlets for each ‘bed-side’, so there was no shortage of where to plug power chargers! That was a great plus! And though the bed frame was solid wood, it was very comfortable to sleep on, and I woke up every morning with no neck or back pains! The bathroom was also very well thought of. The wash sink, toilet and shower/bath tub were all separate, so all 3 of us could use the bathroom at the same time without waiting for our turn! One could wash her face first, while one was taking a shower and one using the toilet. Again, amazing! I especially loved how strong the water was because when I took a shower, I was also pooling water in the tub at the same time to soak in after, and the water pressure on both was strong! We loved the entertainment in the room as well. It was a big screen SmartTV where we could stream Netflix, Prime, YouTube, etc. Then, let’s talk about the massage chair. YES! there’s a massage chair in the room which was a perfect treat after our long trip from Tokyo, to Hiroshima then the ferry ride to the hotel. The location is one of the highlights. It’s right in front of the ferry station, which again was a plus since we were traveling with my elderly Mum who uses a wheelchair. Although we didn’t get to use the onsen, we did get to take a peek just to see the panoramic view. Very nice! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Every small feature was carefully thought of, and no expense was spared on the amenities at all!

Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and request for massages. A free shuttle is available from Miyajima Ferry Terminal, which is also a 5-minute walk away. The attention to detail at this resort was impeccable, as was the quality of service. It is perfectly situated, being far enough away from the crowds, but within easy walking distance of the Torii gate, the "downtown" area, and the ropeway station for the ride up the mountain. Adjacent to the facility is a picturesque stream with the quintessential red colored pedestrian bridge. Be sure to sign up for the delicious breakfast and dinner; the same meal enjoyed by the heads of state at the recent G7 Summit held here. I will definitely be returning with my spouse to bask in the peace and tranquility of Miyajima.

We had an incredible stay! This location is a bit outside of Hiroshima, but very easy to get to by cab or train. The facilities were beautiful, and our room was comfortable with very thoughtful amenities and a beautiful private onsen. The main lobby has bountiful snacks and an incredible sake selection, as well as tons of other beverages that we could help ourselves to as we pleased. Both of our meals were so delicious, much more food than we were able to eat, and our whole party got to share a private dining room with an open hearth. This was truly a wonderful experience, and I would recommend anyone to book here and make the trip!

The staff was exceptionally professional and friendly. The room was cozy and offered a beautiful view. The dinner was delicious and beautifully presented and portions were generous. The hotel did not forget the two dishes we added when we booked the hotel. The added dishes of fried sea bream bones and the braised fish head were nicely prepared and were very good value for money. The quality of the dishes was superb. Most enjoyable and relaxing stay. I wish I had time for one more night! Must come back.

Overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, Grand Prince Hotel is located a 15-minute drive from central Hiroshima. The hotel offers 5 dining options, a outdoor pool (only summer) and hot spring baths. The hotel is featured in Michelin Green Guide Japan 2013. A free shuttle is available from Hiroshima Station, a 30-minute ride away. I was travelling with my husband. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location at the bay, the food at the fantastic restaurant with a wonderful view. They have a great buffet breakfast and a very good dinner or lunch buffet. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we loved so much the onsen. Very convenient the ferry to Miyajima just in front of the hotel. I would absolutely reccomand. There is also a regular bus to down-town city just in front of the hotel.

Guests can reserve a private open-air hot spring bath with Itsukushima Shrine views. Activities at the hotel include a night cruising tour of the World Heritage Sites. We booked the room with a sea view and got a good view of the Itsukushima Jinja torii on Miyajima. The room was well equipped and had yukata and other necessities provided for a great onsen experience. The public baths were good, and we also booked the private onsen for 45 minutes in the evening and got to enjoy complete privacy and comfort and a magnificent full moon over Miyajima while soaking in the natural spring water - probably the best onsen experience we've had in Japan so far! The traditional Japanese dinner was a superb nine-course affair and although breakfast was a buffet style, we still got all the traditional Japanese dishes as well. The hotel lobby, lounge, terrace and other public areas were nicely designed and all the staff were very helpful.

I liked the breakfast - ample and very good! I also like the private Onsen tubs! First time I tried that type and it was great especially for those who want a bit of privacy.
It seems like the Ryokan is run by a Japanese couple. The lady can speak perfect English and she was absolutely lovely. She recommended many places to visit, pointed out where to eat, and warned about opening and closing times of restaurants. She also explained how the in-house onsen works, and I was glad I had a place to relax after a long rainy day
Everything was excellent from the moment they pick you up at the ferry terminal. Traditional ryokan with modern amenities. Dinner was great and uniquely Japanese. Went to the onsen in the early morning and it was empty so I had the place to myself.
Breakfast was very good. The beds/pillows were very clean and comfortable. I slept well every night. There is also indoor onsen on the second floor.
They have a private Onsen (public bath), which is just for the accommodation guests. Classic Ryokan accommodation, very cute and nice 😍 Comfortable, warm and lovely. Staff extremely nice, friendly and helpful ☺️ It's close to the ferry station.
The atmosphere, the lovely views of the lake from the room. Very clean and the food was good. Even though we didn't enter the hot spring pools, the hot tub on our private balcony was amazing!
This charming ryokan style hotel was like stepping back in time. Like others have mentioned, the hotel is dated, but it is well maintained and very clean. The view from the rooms out to the sea is lovely and futon beds very comfortable. The food was excellent and service exceptional. We enjoyed using the onsen facilities and rocking round in our yakuta. The shuttle service from the port was also very handy. We had a memorable stay and loved our time on Miyajima.
host had a very nice vibe and was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were beautiful and very clean. private onsen was a great addition + there was a cat! one of the best places we have stayed while in a Japan.
beautiful ryokan with great lovely staff. the 30min private onsen was amazing
They have a really nice hot spring bath -onsen-, which make the stay great
