This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! 5 minute walk from the train station and central area for restaurants, super clean, room was big and the bed was comfortable, quiet at night even though it's close to the train station, the free ramen was delicious and the onsen was 10x better than we expected - seemed new, very modern and clean, with a view of the Japanese alps and an indoor and outdoor area. Great value and we wish we had stayed for an extra night!

The property has sea and mountain views, and is 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. The guest house features family rooms. Very nice place for visiting Atami and relaxing in a private onsen. There was a kitchen and a fridge. Our room had a beautiful view to the ocean. The owners and stuff were very friendly and treated us like a family. Thank you.🙏

There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. I liked literally everything. The staff was extra polite, optional kaiseki and breakfast were exceptional meals, and I'd really recommend going for it. View was excellent, as were amenities like craft beers in the suite, and different kinds of sweets. And the best part is bath, or baths, to be exact. Taking the hot spring bath in open air in the breezy night is kind of a lifechanging experience

At the ryokan, all units are soundproof. At the ryokan, every unit includes bed linen and towels. Environment was serene and peaceful. Private onsen availability was good and general onsen was enjoyable. Many facilities and additional features. Food was well beyond expectations (quality and quantity). A pricey accommodation, but well worth the spend if you are looking to splurg.

The staff were all exceptionally friendly and attentive - everyone from the shuttle bus driver and receptionists to the restaurant staff. Mount Fuji is visible from the rooms and also from the nice little onsen on the top floor. The shuttle bus service is very convenient to and from Kawaguchiko station. Both the dinner and breakfast were great and plentiful. The view gets a bit better as you go further along the lakeshore away from Kawaguchiko station, but we found Hotel Asafuji to be good value for money and the wonderful service made it a very pleasant stay.
