Our favourite stay of the trip. Like a time capsule, the outside is rustic and the inside is spacious and intact. Rice paper shoji screens and tatami throughout. The owners are absolutely wonderful and the food was the most varied and generous we had. Definitely order dinner, as well as breakfast, but starve yourself for a few days before you arrive.

The staff are absolutely amazing from every step of the stay. They make you feel like family and offer the best service I have ever experienced in a stay. The private onsen is amazing especially after a day out, they prepare dinner at a time that suits you. The shuttle service is very convenient offering a ride to attractions nearby, we found it amazing when skiing. The food is remarkable, with many courses of traditional and fresh food made for breakfast and lunch. The relaxing onsen outside is also a great feature, relaxing while snow falls around you. The mountain views from the room are amazing to wake up to, and even to sit and look outside is relaxing.

Completely exceeded our expectations. The onsen was amazing, has an outdoor, indoor, cold pool, two saunas and three pool in different temperatures The hotel staff was really nice, the food is great and there are always little treats waiting for you everywhere We stayed in the summertime when the hotel wasn't at full capacity
