This Ryokan is phenomenal. - Breakfast and dinner, exceptional. Probably the greatest thing we like about the Ryokan. - The room, it was amazing, clean and tidy - We only used the private onsen (which is first come first serve basis, no booking required), temperature is just right with great view once you opened the window.

Staffs are very nice, friendly, and very service-minded. I lost my ring in the onsen and the next morning, when asked about it, they are able to return it to me.

Exceeded my expectations. The views from the room and the rooftop onsen were gorgeous, the meals were consistently great, the location was a great point from which to explore the town, and the staff were, without exception, friendly and attentive.

Well situated on the Ikaho Stone Steps, Kishigon Ryokan had a wonderful check in service and large breakfast buffet selection. The 3 onsen choices were all different. The open aspect onsen was my favourite. There was a magnificent view as you stepped out of the main elevator.

Onsen is fantastic, I have two small tattoos and they gave me skin stickers to cover them for free. We loved the big lounge and free snacks and drinks and the little robot guy. Friendly staff, cavernous hotel it just keeps going. Lovely Japanese style room and an exit straight out onto the steps. Free parking too. We got a bit lost finding it, you need to approach from the bottom/front of the hotel, not the back! The reception music created a great old school vibe, half expected James bond to stroll through.

This was more like a resort than a hotel, with Onsen instead of pool. Such a beautiful spot and the staff were so kind, attentive and helpful. We are so grateful to them.

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.
