This hotel does the important things really well. 1) the bed is very comfortable (something you can’t always rely on in Japan!) 2) the room is quiet. No noise from neighbours, fans, motors or anything else that could disturb. 3) the room is dark. Block out curtains are used and there are minimal annoying little lights that often appear in hotel rooms like bright lights on air con units, light switches etc. The onsen is lovely’s don’t the facilities attached to the onsen are clean and adequate. The staff are friendly and polite. This place is a very comfortable place to stay and I would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. The room had a generous view of the mountain, landscape, and japanese garden. The compound itself is well serviced by a regular shuttle bus and the drivers and staff were always super helpful and professional. Onsen was super nice and you get to enjoy access to many nice onsen by staying here. One thing I really liked was the access to the lobby lounge which provided free flow soft drinks, local apple juice, coffee, beer, wine, and even snacks! Overall, you won't go wrong staying here. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Karuizawa.

There was a good selection and the mains provided were delicious. As my child did not like pancakes, the waitress very kindly offered to make an omelette for her.

The front desk staff were helpful and spoke enough English to have a conversation. The room exceeded my expectations and i love the Japanese style for half the room and western for the other half. Clean, tidy, :)
