Breakfast was good. I had a nice chat with the Sri Lankan man working in the restaurant. I love Sri Lanka. Good selection of food. We were finishing walking the 870 mile Wales Coast Path. Mercure Newport was a great place to stay. We liked the Welsh cakes, free on arrival! My pic shows the city view from the 12th floor.

Great central Newport location, nicely decorated throughout. Unable to use bar & restaurant due to private function but I’m sure they would of been nice. Had room only so great value, overlooking roof terrace but was quiet and slept well. Very comfortable, what you would expect with Mercure. Like the way they included a bit of Newport history thank you

We had a great stay at the Mercure Hotel, the breakfast was very good, self service that provided a wide choice from full english to continental, pastries and cereals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of Newport was very useful with bars and restaurants all in walking distance.

We have stayed at this Mercure hotel before, mainly because it is ideally located just behind the bus station and part of the old shopping area - there are new shops in big centres/arcades nearby. Staff helpful, rooms nice and warm
