Village shops are nearby, beach is 5 minutes by bike. Sun beds are relatively scarce on sunset beach, so go early morning and take good sun beds. If you visit Thoddoo you will share experience of real life Maldives. It is affordable, very good for recharging. It is not luxurious as the resort, but beach and sea life is fantastic, local fruit too, and you feel spending time in real community. And you will enjoy Maldives for fraction of resort cost

Offering a luxurious paradise experience, Diamonds Athuruga Maldives Resort & SPA features spacious villas, a spa offering Ayurvedic treatments and a dive centre. It is just a 20-minute scenic seaplane flight from Malé International Airport. Staff were amazing, food was also amazing. Snorkelling over the reef was like being in a huge aquarium, just magic. We had an overwater villa, so comfortable, clean and loved waking up to our water view and coffee on the balcony.
