Lots of attention to detail with furnishings. Bed huge and super comfy. Staff were great and Ian was fantastic with us as we arrived a little early but Ian let us have our room so we could go out around Windermere without having to come back to check in. This was much appreciated.

Fantastic stay, lovely room and it had a living room with a TV, couch and mini fridge. We were delighted with our room too, very spacious and clean! Super comfy double bed.

The hotel was clean, bright, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, fruit juices, fruit, yogurt, granola and cereals and a great selection of cooked breakfast choices.

String of Horses lies in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain: near Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Scottish borders. Beautiful coaching inn, full of character. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Bed room was huge with a lovely en suite and big fluffy towels. Lovely choice for breakfast and meals in the evening were great.

The property's dining room mixes traditional and modern dishes based on locally sourced products. Dishes feature Cumbrian game and locally caught fish.

The bar has an open fire, and the lounge has a warming fire and stunning views through the picture windows. Dog and human friendly, great staff nothing was a bother and very professional

At night it gets completely dark, which made it possible to see so many stars and even constellations, such an amazing experience. The host was very welcoming and came up to show us where everything was and how to use the hot tub. He was kind enough to fix the hot tub for us as well, which we really appreciated. The accommodation itself is very new, with comfy beds, great heating, and excellent high water pressure. Overall, a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended.
